During treatment I just wanted to retify a couple of things with my GP and hoped they could give me a quick call back in the next few days. After waiting nearly an hour on the phone, I was told ( by reception) that if everyone got to speak to the doctor there would be no time for consultations . I was offered an appointment...in 6 weeks time. When I declined because I really wanted to talk to the doctor sooner I was told my refusal would be noted.....sounded like a threat to me.

Absolutely useless doctors surgery, no point going into details, not going to contact you again no matter how bad it gets, prefer to be dead then have to put up with all the pain and suffering I have to cope with that I just normally Ignore because I can’t be arsed with the hassle to contact you and the stress I get when trying to deal with you. And then when I’m generally concerned as worried I may have life changing consequences over my issues you’re not there to help. I’ll be trying to change surgeries asap

Update surgery changed, BMC. Have been fantastic so far, very polite and very very quick and answering any queries and booking appointments. Goodbye HMC thank god

i have wanted to try and be gracious about hmg because of all the flack it gets but to be honest I have become so disappointed with this service. The forms that you have to fill in are ridiculous - there are so many questions and, as one receptionist actually admitted, can result in an impression that is 'very vague'. I have been struggling with a suspected chest and sinus infection for over a month. I got in touch with the surgery two weeks ago and was directed to a pharmacist who called me to offer some advice about over the counter drugs. I was told that if they did not work I was to get back to the surgery to get more help. After having a horrible night of coughing and fever I contacted the surgery first thing in the morning using the form and wrote the circumstances at the end suggesting that at this stage I might need antibiotics. I received a call back suggesting an appointment with a nurse a week later. When I explained that this was not satisfactory the receptionist became quite defensive and said that the doctor had used the triage system and had come to the conclusion that this was the best outcome. I went on to contact 111 and the lady I spoke to there agreed that the response I'd received from HMG was not adequate! I understand the need for a triage system but do not understand the way these decisions are made - I sometimes wonder if the doctor actually looks at the forms properly!

I'm very frustrated with this GP practice. When registering my son for a skin issue, I was told I’d get a call from the pharmacy but had to push for an appointment, and only then did he get antibiotics.
For my younger child, who has been coughing for six months, they keep saying it might be asthma but won’t properly investigate because she’s under 5. Now, they won’t even book an appointment to check her chest. The lack of urgency and care for my children’s health is very disappointing.

Despite being referred from a&e back to the GP 4 times, every time I fill out a form online to see a GP, they put me down as a routine appointment which is 6 weeks away. They have no duty of care for their patients & expect them to stay in agony for so long.

Thankfully leaving this gp and already I’ve received more support in a week than I have from this place in three years. The disrespect, the lack of understanding of neurodiversity. I honestly don’t know how this surgery isn’t under observation for malpractice. If you just look at the other comments by people you can see that this surgery is not up for the task of caring for patients. Of course all nhs services are being stretched and are under distress. However when you have people running surgeries to this standard it makes you wonder whether it’s both the management problem and the underfunding going hand in hand to deliver inadequate treatment in many areas. A handful of other gps are working with the patients. This one seems to see you as a number and cannot wait to just get you out of the door because they can’t be bothered to actually do their job. Then when you complain and try to explain how the system isn’t working you’re treated as if you’re stupid and that it’s your fault that they cannot handle it. As a community at Hereford you deserve better and so need to do all you can to get this surgery reviewed to see if it’s actually fit to run. Complain to the local council or report them to a medical board. Your complaints will stop with the surgery, that’s why there’s no change. You need to go above them.

This is on behalf of my husband-
Came into the surgery today for the first time in about 12 months and was very pleased with the attitude efficiency of the reception staff. Much improved.

I believe HMG is doing the best they can with what resources they have. I called this morning hoping to see a Dr with an issue. Yes, it took me 20 minutes just to get the option for call-back, but once I spoke to a very helpful and friendly receptionist, she got me an appointment for the very same morning. I only sat in the waiting room for 5 minutes before I was seen by a kind and professional nurse practitioner who made me feel looked after.
