I am absolutely disgusted at the way my mam has been treated when she went into Hepscott care centre for respite.
My mam had only been in there coming up 3 weeks she said it was OK. My mam had told the carers she had a sore left leg and that she couldn’t lift her leg.
Me and my daughter went and told a carer and she said everything is documented in mam’s file. (well I had thought that it was however, it turns out this wasn’t logged)
As the days went on the staff at the home didn’t even bother to check on my mam let alone get a doctor out to examine her leg. As time progressed my mam got weaker and weaker and out of breath so easily. Unfortunately just kept putting her in a wheelchair instead of calling the doctor out to medically examine my mam.
My mam was there to get physiotherapy and that never happened. The staff were horrible toward the whole family. I firmly believe that If they acted accordingly to my mam’s needs she would still be alive today. However, it seems apparent that Hepscott care centre have badly neglected my mam. This is wrong in so many ways and should never of happened. The home needs to take responsibility and accountability make sure this can never happen again to any resident.

My mam Norma Marks was there for just over 3 weeks before she died suddenly and unexpectedly last Tuesday 16th May. She only went in there for restbite till she could get back home to where she was happy. At first she seemed okay but as the days went on she said she hated it hear and there was 1 member of staff which I cant name just in case i into trouble but it was one of the seniors and she spoke to me like i was nobody. They failed my mam as they didnt document everytime I told them she wasn't feeling well or had a pain in her leg. The only member of staff who was called beth was great and very friendly but as an overall home it lacks compassion, and care and had my mam been in somewhere else she wouldn't be dead and she would still be here. Please don't put your loved ones in here as it's an absolute disgrace
