I have always been honest and open with helping hands about my personal circumstances and they have accommodated my rota around this. I love the work I do and being able to help someone live as independently as possible in their own homes gives me a great sense of achievement. Having regular clients enables me to build a trusting relationship with the client and understand more about their lives and needs.

Helping hands York are Excellent.

Helping hands York have given me and excellent service from day 1. I have very punctual and consistent carers who are friendly and easy to communicate with, The care given is totally person centered and my needs from the carers and managers always come first. The staff that manage in the office are willing to work with other carers in the care field if necessary. The staff are all one big team who work together and go above and beyond to make sure everyone is happy with the service, this includes making sure the carers are looked after and happy in thier work. Helping hands York have treated me much better than any care company I have been a customer to in the past. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Helping Hands enabled my Dad stay at his home, in York, for approx 2 years. They were absolutely superb. It is very daunting when you have to choose a company to help look after your parents, in their own home, but right from the outset their care went above and beyond what we hoped for. They were always on time, flexible to meet Dads complicated needs and always pleasant to us and kept us well informed about his care. Dad really liked them and they really listened to what he wanted. There were a couple of members of staff who were really fab - rude to pick them out as all the staff were excellent. I would recommend Helping Hands again and again to anyone who needs to trust that their parent will receive good quality care at home. The care was personal to Dad. He has sadly passed away now, but without Helping Hands he would have had to go into a care home far earlier, which was the very last thing he wanted to do.

I am elated to have finally employed a team of people who not only work efficiently and effectively but also support me (as well as caring for my son). Many years of untrustworthy service providers left me feeling lost and disheartened, I believed I would never have the opportunity to have my son live with me at home, due to his complex medical needs, but then I found Nic at Helping Hands and his dedicated team.
Whilst always remaining professional, the team have become a working extension of my family and each carer has their own attributes and personality which compliments and meets my son’s complex needs.
I remain in ore of how hard they all work and their dedication not only to get it right for my son but also for me (and I really am hard to please sometimes). Thanks Nic and your team for everything you do for us. Long may it continue!

HH York Branch - they ARE BRILLIANT

Our mum used mainly Hourly Care from the Acomb team for nearly 2 years and used Live-In for a while after a hospital visit. Mum passed away peacefully in hospital recently after a short illness.

Basically mum's family have HIGH PRAISE for all the team at Helping Hands. (I'll not single out any carers.) HH enabled mum to carry on living in the family home of 52 years when without them it would not have been possible.

On several occasions the carers went well beyond anything reasonably expected of them and we all love them for it. Mum had a bit of dementia which on occasion made it challenging if she had her "bad head" on but even then these angels shone through.

Even at the end of mum's life and immediately after the extra mile was embraced and undertaken with support, professionalism and, as ever, good humour.
