Helping Hands call on my elderly dad several mornings a week to do a welfare check on him and they carry out tasks for him because he's losing his sight. The carers are punctual, reliable and very helpful and kind to my dad and he's got to know them individually because usually the same people call in every week. They deal with his washing and hang it out for him, they go through his freezer with him and help him choose what he's going to cook for his lunch that day and various other jobs that they see need doing. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers and my dad enjoys their visits and companionship while they are with him. I highly recommend this company and my dad was very resistant to start with about carers calling in to check on him and help him, but they were very helpful when I first enlisted their services. The service they provide gives my brother and me peace of mind knowing that we can rely on someone calling it to see our dad on certain days. Thank you very much for all your help.

I found helping hands a very caring company and their communication excellent. I liked the way the carers decided to do little things for dad that made a high difference without being specifically asked by family. The carers were on time or called if they were going to be late and particularly Deborah developed a good report with dad within a short space of time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them

My brother has found the carers friendly and very helpful. Whenever I have spoken to anyone I also have found them to be professional and friendly. The office staff are also great at responding to queries and were so helpful when my brother's care package was set up.

We have really struck lucky with Helping Hands visiting carer service. Carers of very high quality, supported by efficient and reliable administration - they came out even on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Wouldn’t recommend !!!!
I have used this company for almost 2 years and can honestly say that they have been chronically short staffed, they don’t seem to have enough staff if someone goes off sicker or on holiday they have routinely cancelled calls and messed about.
Besides this the office staff can be quite inconsistent and at times unprofessional.
The reason for staying with them for this amount of time is mainly due to laziness on my part and just accepting their short comings as part of the package of carers that are sent. Hoping things will get better when they get more staff, which they never did! The ladies sent have been kind and helpful but have changed so regularly, are chronically overworked so, tend to show up late and looking tired and worn down.
They get paid less than half the client pays and as a result of this the staff turnover very regular. The training they provide is very basic and …you… will be expected to show them everything as my care plan has consistently been wrong ...(about the only things consistent about this company)
Despite this they will still take on your NEW care package.

Recently I have had to cancel calls, change times and re arrange my life around hospital appointments due to my health declining for a period. I regularly called to give notice and was told it was fine on the phone BUT...
I also was still charged and of course paid for any late notice changes.
After a month of doing this after lockdown MY CONTRACT WAS TERMINATED without warning and I was left without any care or support at all.
This is within their terms and conditions but I didnt realise a care company could be so UNCOMPASSIONATE.
For this reason I would steer clear of this company if you or loved ones require regular and consistent care and compassion.
