Having worn the same hearing aids for five years I realised that I had lost more of the higher frequencies and that it was time to have my hearing tested again.

The hearing tests at HHP were carried out by Robert Beiny and it was during the extensive tests that I came to understand the relationship between hearing and the processing of what I was hearing. It was this realisation that made me appreciate how important the work of the audiologist is and also how necessary a full hearing test is before any changes can be made.
At each stage of the tests I was given a full explanation of what was being tested and why.

Hearing aids were supplied and programmed to suit my particular hearing loss and at follow up sessions the programming was slightly revised to match, more clearly, my experiences and requirements in the real world.

The end result of Robert Beiny’s analysis of my hearing and provision of hearing aids is that I am enjoying so much more of the sound world.

Having suffered with a progressively worsening hearing problem since my late thirties (I am 74 now), I initially tried various devices from several well known high street hearing aid providers and then, over the years, some different models supplied by the NHS, but I didn’t achieve a step change in my hearing ability until I visited the HHP. Only then did I discover that independent audiologists are healthcare professionals providing a clinical approach to hearing care rather than the approach elsewhere where the focus appears to be on selling hearing aids. HHP have helped me come to appreciate why the service provided by an audiologist is of equal importance to the choice of device itself.

The team at the HHP have, over the years, provided me with an exemplary service, both in the choice of the devices most suitable for my particular type and severity of hearing loss, and in the essential tuning and on-going assessment and re-tuning of the devices as my hearing ability changes over time.
All of the staff that I have interacted with are professional, considerate and knowledgable, as well as clearly being very well qualified and trained on an on-going basis, this being essential for keeping up with the continually improving technology that characterises hearing aid developments over time.

In addition, the practice offers a comfortable and calm environment for consultations, with patient and knowledgeable practitioners who are very good at both listening to the client, and getting the best possible hearing experience from the latest technology.

I’d be lost without their service and, even though I have now moved away from Hertfordshire, I am happy to continue to travel to them for the bi-annual servicing and tuning sessions that are so useful. Needless to say, I have no hesitation in wholeheartedly recommending them to anyone with a hearing problem

An excellent experience throughout -comprehensive ,detailed and unhurried explanations of hearing loss both in general and specifically for my case following the extensive tests, with an end result whereby my hearing is now greatly improved and I can for example now sit in an extremely noisy London restaurant and follow and actively partake in the conversation.The general atmosphere throughout the consultations is one of efficiency and friendliness .Can highly recommend.
