Currently finishing my placement and have absolutely loved it. They couldn't do enough for me. Every request or enquiry I had was answered quickly. Nothing was too much to ask for. Anything I was unsure about was discussed in detail. Never once felt rushed or as if they didn't have time for me. Would highly recommend for anyone starting their counselling journey.

Thank you Healthbox for your support and advice in recent months.
I really look forward to the regular painting sessions. I have produced many colourful pictures and the course has rekindled my love of sketching and drawing on my own. The sessions are very well run and everyone can work at their own pace.
Since I joined the Art course my mood and general well-being has improved greatly.
I also seem to have much more energy to do everyday things. I am also much more positive about myself and the things I do.

Everybody should give the Healthbox podcasts a listen! They are so calming, help with breathing, anxiety and being present in the moment. Whilst I appreciate the opportunity for therapy that is free I was not satisfied with the service given.

The therapist I had, named Dean, seemed much more anxious than I was to take part in the sessions and offered little to no advice and gave very basic coping mechanism sheets which did nothing. He also didn't particularly seem to get how to talk to autistic people, so I'm assuming he didn't have training to do so.
I found that through the six weeks of sessions I had it did not make me feel any better about what's going on, and I regularly had spirals of depression and other issues regardless of if I had the sessions or not.

That and also when I finally cancelled the sessions and moved forwards, I was essentially harrassed by phone to make a review over and over, multiple times. I had said I would, but I did not say I would do so immediately despite what the receptionist seemed to believe. It pushed me away from making a review honestly, as it was anxiety inducing to have someone call me every couple of days or so just to demand a review.

My experience wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. The therapy sessions could do with improvements, such as accomodations for those who are hard of hearing or have auditory processing issues or just straight up memory issues, via maybe doing it over teams messages or emails instead of a call, so that the session is in writing.

I believe that they should have more therapists trained to deal with people who are neurodivergent, plus just staff in general trained for that as it would help many who need the services.

I don't think I will be using this service again unless I have no other choice.

HealthBox is a fantastic organisation - it’s well run by an enthusiastic and caring team. It’s a great place to do counselling work and for clients looking for help from a dedicated team.
