Nice modest size, friendly staff, but frustrating that we were told session started later than advertised on website and then that (despite in theory being one of the first in) we couldn't go in baby pool as already full!!! Also didn't realise until too late that parking free if using pool. Otherwise all very pleasant.

This place could be so much better! The pool is a nice size and there's a welfare area but unfortunately it's run by kids and management really don't seem to care much about anything. Despite numerous complaints the basic Cleanliness of this place is truly lacking! The changing area is so grubbie and more offend than not smell of urine, understandable with a hi volume of children going for swim classes accidents can happen but nothing a little pine disinfectant couldn't fix! As for the welfare area the sweat and hair of trousers body's in a sauna or steam room that is never clean Is just disgusting!! When I asked a member of staff when was the last time this place was deep cleaned? His reply "Don't know but I'd say it's well overdue" wrong answer!!! The whole place is screaming to be cleaned properly!!!

Water tends to feel overly cold and the changing rooms aren't all that clean, but it does the job for a community swimming pool.

I had swimming lessons at the swim school here for years (from a very young child in the baby pool to my early teens) which were great!

Pool water tastes of salt(sweat), shampoo and urine. Schools use it and I never see the kids shower before entering the pool. Yesterday I saw a couple come out of the health suite dripping with sweat from the sauna and jump straight into the pool. I saw a woman shave her legs in the public showers and a man shampoo his head in the toilet. People also leave hair on the changing room floor which is not cleaned enough and you are likely to get athletes foot. During lane swimming, etiquette is poor and some slow swimmers insist on using the fast lane and do not give way.

I was a schoolchild when it was planned to build this pool. Each Harpenden schoolchild contributed one penny per week to build the pool. I absolutely loved it in the sixties and hope everyone else does now. It was outdoor without a roof, cold changing rooms etc; doesn't seem to have changed in that respect by what other reviews tell me! I went to Roundwood Park Junior School to start with.

Good sized, and well maintained pool near the centre of Harpenden town. They have plenty of family swims (timetables on their website), and they have a fe pool toys for the kids to play with. On nice summer days they open an outdoor pool which is cold, but refreshing on those hot days!

Went at 8am on a sunday with my 3 children (15months, 8years and 11 years) no issues, water was clean, warm, changing rooms was clean, staff was very polite and helpful, our first time at this centre and will return again and again, its not a judge pool but that's what I prefer

Good for early morning swim. Quite a few there 7-8am but not too crowded. Showers only cool today usually warmer.
