I just signed up to this Doctors and getting an appointment is extremely difficult. I called up on a Thursday, the lady on the phone said we don’t take appointments throughout the week we only take appointments on Monday at 8AM. I thought to myself… that’s strange, I’ll call on Monday 8AM. Monday comes, I give the Doctors a call, I had multiple failed attempts to get through as their phone lines were full. I eventually managed to get through to the Doctors after 53 minutes on hold only to be told that all appointments are taken, and they only book a week in advance. This was extremely disappointing as I was happy to wait several weeks just to get an appointment but the lady at the reception wasn’t having any of it. From what I can see, this is an extremely poor way of managing appointments, it brings so much stress to people who are sick and in need. I shouldn’t have to compete with other people on a first come first served basis to get medical treatment/advice. I wouldn’t recommend this place.

I admit they have had their issues in the past, however the past few months they have been amazing. Receptionists have been so helpful and friendly, even if they couldn’t make me an appointment they would assist giving alternatives or asking politely to call back next day. I’ve been nothing but grateful and happy with the standard of care the Drs have given, specifically Dr Ruddock and Dr Fitzpatrick. Great surgery since some changes have obviously been made.

I cannot praise the receptionists at Hardwicke House enough! The lady I spoke to on the telephone this morning was lovely and immediately put me at ease and they were all just as friendly in person! Dr Gilmour isn’t too bad either 🤣 and puts you at ease and explains everything. He certainly doesn’t rush you! Full marks for Hardwicke House!

I have just registered with Hardwick which was very strange forward. I have just tried to book a doctor's appointment. I was asked by the receptionist what appointment I wanted. Well as I was phoning a doctor's surgery would of thought that was self explanation. Was brutally told I would have to call back Mon morning. Never heard off anything like it.so

If you ever have to contact the doctors due to experiencing dire mental health issues then expect to get dismissively spoken down to.

I've just had the most upsetting!!! telephone review with a terrible mannered woman : (( . There is no need to talk to me like that. We depend on your professional guidance.
You say.. we do!! . You are the experts.
If I had been allowed to talk . I could have explained my needs better . I definitely needed support on this occasion to understand the changes you were making to my long-term medication. If I could get a face to face
with a doctor , yes, that would be perfect but not easy to get these days .
PLEASE be patient. some of us are struggling with very difficult times!!! .

I’m not a patient however I tried registering as a patient at a sister surgery Meadow lane after moving to Essex… I had to walk out of that surgery after being treated rudely and inefficiently by the reception staff there whilst trying to register and also get my 4 yo son seen with an ear infection. I rung Hardwicke house to enquire about registering and spoke to Lisa who I can’t commend enough. She advised me on where to register and personally apologised for the way we were treated at the sister surgery; also informing me there are protocols to dealing with an emergency like my son as a temporary patient. She gave extreme kindness and empathy that’s hard to come by with some surgeries. I wanted to identify what an asset she is to her job. Thank you😊
