The service over the last six months has been excellent. There has been a vast improvement with phone waiting times and every experience with reception staff, and medical staff, has been brilliant. I don't need to visit the surgery often. This week I have, unfortunately, had to visit twice in one week for 2 different reasons. On both occasions the Reception staff have been really kind and helpful. After asking about my symptoms they put a request through immediately and then I went home to await an outcome.
The first time within 10 minutes a Doctor rang me and he was brilliant so understanding and empathetic spending time talking to me and giving advice and options to help me.
The second time I was given a face to face appointment with a Doctor who was lovely and issued me with a medication to help my ear problem.

One because you cant put 0,
Nothing short of appalling , completely enept at there job but 5 star for being rude and also having 0% empathy if you are looking to join this surgery dont i had to pay privatly for an mri scan because all they done was kick the can down the road over a year of sevire back pain and still on going. Also there internal comunication is as much use as a chocolate tea pot.

There is a reason they were voted 3rd worst in bristol

I appreciate lots of surgeries are struggling but speaking to other people who go to different surgeries Hanham Health seem particularly bad. Over the years my family have had many bad experiences - in some cases, quite dangerous ones. I worry for those who are vulnerable and don't have the family network to help push for the right care.

There are of course lovely and hard-working people who work there, but the overall organisation and level of care is disappointing, some Drs worrying leaving my confidence in them extremely low.

I think the online system, in principle, is a good one but worry about the lack of ability to question or follow up on a response if that response if not actually speaking to someone.

I've also logged in today to try and schedule my smear test - logged on this morning and it said they are capacity and to try again after 12pm. I've just logged on again (2.30pm) and it still says they are at capacity and to try again at 8am on Monday...

This online system should solve having to follow up like this...

Terrible surgery, awful process to book any appointment. The staff are polite, but they are now having to follow the awful Anima process of booking appointments. In the 3 years I've been there I have never ever been happy with this surgery, from having one doctor forget to press send on my referral and after waiting 10 months then to be told I had to start again... Would never recommend unless they make significant changes

Was referred here by 111 for an emergency appointment but the only thing the reception staff were concerned about was talking about their christmas party. They were utterly clueless, useless, careless and downright rude. For a medical practice the lack of concern and basic human compassion was astounding. You’d be better off putting a pile of bricks behind the front desk as I’d feel more empathy from that. i’m sure they’d be much more efficient too. I actually left feeling worse which is the opposite of what you’d want in a GP. Save yourself the time and don’t sign up here unless you enjoy being treated like a child. I wouldn’t trust them with my goldfish

There is always a problem here. Very poorly run.

Generally happy to just accept it but this weekend was the last straw.

My wife was invited for a covid jab. For context, she was pregnant when she received the message, but when she booked it with one of the receptionists she had already had our baby but was told this wouldn't be a problem.

On Saturday, after a tricky night with our newborn, we had to wake her up to come with us to the appointment, she was distressed and tired because of this, only to be told that my wife was not eligible and was turned away.

Needless to say we were very unhappy with how this situation was organised and handled.

It speaks volumes that whenever we speak to healthcare professionals outside of Hanham Health and mention that we are with them, there is always a knowing nod when we explain one of our recent awful experiences.

We went for a flu jab once and they asked why we weren't getting the jab with our doctors. We said that we were with Hanham Health, and they said "say no more, come this way"
