It was totally overwhelming when my sister & I lost our Dad last year as he was the carer for our Mum who at that stage was diagnosed with cognitive impairment. We rapidly cycled through a number of care options including looking after Mum ourselves and in-home care. At the point at which we realised Mum needed to be in residential care, we found Halecroft Grange via the Care Quality Commission website due to the outstanding rating.
My Mum & sister were impressed with the facility and team when they visited, and Mum moved into assisted living in Halecroft in March 2024. The team at Halecroft were incredibly accommodating when we quickly realised that Mum needed a higher level of care due to escalating cognitive impairment.
We are so happy that we chose Halecroft. The team have been fantastic and have an amazing activities schedule including individual therapy sessions. We love the fact that although our Mum has dementia, the team involve her in broader activities with non-dementia residents and this keeps her happy and stimulated given she is still physically active.
The relish app is a fantastic tool for receiving photos and updates on her engagement and provides conversation starters when we talk or visit.
We highly recommend Halecroft Grange to anyone looking for either an assisted living or dementia care option for a parent.

Our Mum joined Halecroft just over a month ago. Shahvez co ordinated all aspects of the transfer from hospital into Halecroft. It couldn’t have been more seamless. Shahvez and his colleagues are totally people and family centered. Nothing is too much trouble and each and every member of staff without exception is friendly warm and professional and have gone the extra mile to ensure that mum has settled quickly into her new home. Needless to say, with the outstanding care she has received she is thriving. If you have this difficult decision to make, please visit. Once you have been, there is no hard decision left! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the food is nutritious and plentiful and the care is second to none.
There are not enough stars!
Halecroft are simply outstanding!

Just got my mum out of this place after 4 months. She was put there by her son. She returned on anti-depressants but an ordinarily sunnier, happier person you could not meet. She had put on a lot of weight. She needed a haircut, her toenails were uncut & she has an untreated fungal infection on every toe. But her fingernails were painted and I'd say that contrast probably gives you a good idea of the place. Also, l have had zero, literally zero information about my mother from this place, despite having equal power of attorney. No information about her well-being, nor about where she is despite asking, nor any finances. Mum was left without any help or care in profound distress on the first night that I called. The staff member I spoke to was so appallingly rude and dismissive that I have not wanted to call again. People have listened in when I have tried to call and you can't call without being recorded meaning no privacy of communication. Sometimes the phone system doesn't work at all. I have barely been able to speak to her in 4+ months. A complaint led nowhere. They have lied about me to 3rd parties saying I don't care about my mother. They avoided the question whether I can take my own mother out who was taken from her home in Scotland & put there. They don't display the cards I send her. I don't even know if she gets them & suspect not.
Her medically prescribed hearing aids have been taken away. Before she was taken from her community & family & locked up there mum had a very fit and active life doing many everyday household things for herself or with help also impossible now. Avoid at all costs!

Halecroft Grange is a warm and friendly place. I am fortunate to have had a longstanding friendship/collaboration with the care home. As an early years teacher in a local nursery I have often visited with the children and engaged in lots of fantastic interactions such as storytime, Christmas sing a longs, Remembrance Day activities. The staff, especially Sharon, Sarah and Jackie have always gone above and beyond to make us feel at home. The residents are always happy and well cared for. There are always plenty of professional staff available and the children have gained so much from visiting their Halecroft Grange friends. Thankyou!

It is clear the residents comfort is of priority and I was impressed by the level of independence they encourage, as well as the support provided for those who require it. There is a real feel of community and it is a lovely place to be. Staff are incredibly impressive and the best in the profession.

What a fantastic facility. Quite unlike any of the other homes in the area in that it offers people the security of a care home while allowing independent living in gorgeous self contained living spaces with separate lounge, bedroom and kitchen area. People who stay here have a wide range of abilities and disabilities and all care needs are catered for. It has a bistro area for people to pop down for coffee and snacks by themselves or with visitors and a full schedule activities that are free to join in the dining room had the feel of a restaurant with a choice of menu. Staff are also trained to care for people who need maximum help with their personal care including hoisting etc as required. On the top floor is a specialist area for people living with dementia where all staff are dementia care trained and their every need is seen to with incredible care and dignity. Whenever I go in the staff are always polite and friendly and truly invested in their residents, with a smiley face greeting you from concierge as you walk through the door. I have been to many homes in the area and while there are many options available it’s fair to say that what Halecroft Grange offers is truly unique.

I’ve attended Halecroft Grange on a number of occasions and have always been impressed by the quality of the facilities and the care and attention demonstrated by the staff from management, carers, housekeeping and catering, throughout the whole team.

One of my visits was to deliver workshops on Wellbeing After Bereavement to a number of staff in working in different departments throughout the home. The sessions were wonderfully interactive as the staff spoke about the close bonds and attachments they form with those residents that they care for. I was particularly impressed by the staff as they spoke about their passion for delivering excellent and compassionate care to their residents.

I’ve toured around the home with Sharon Parkes, the impressive Director of Community Relations and was taken with the facilities in terms of the size of the rooms, their airy feel, the décor and the friendliness and professionalism of the care staff. The team generate a real sense of job satisfaction and you gain a sense that care staff, management, the whole team are passionate about the roles they perform and the people they care for. We’ve worked alongside the care team at the home to support bereaved families and again, the sense of compassion and professionalism has been clearly demonstrated.

Sharon has mobilised an impressive community presence for Halecroft Grange with a wide range of well publicised community initiatives that she organises for the residents and team. These have included charity golf days to raise funds for local charities, holding of a charity valuation afternoon for residents, the creation of poppies for a remembrance wreath, a Silver Surfers Club for residents who would like to brush up their IT skills, a wine tasting evening with local businesses to raise money for charity and a visit from players at Altrincham Football Club – showing a real breadth of activities and the involvement of the local community in life at Halecroft Grange.

I’m also aware that Halecroft Grange were recently rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC and the inspectors praised the home's lifestyle team who ensure activities reflect the interests, backgrounds and cultures of its residents. A wonderful achievement by all the Halecroft Grange team and thoroughly deserved.
