The last 2 times I have used this GP, I have been so deeply upset by the experience. The first time I was made to take my blood pressure in the waiting room (no privacy barriers) which was so humiliating. Now I've just had a phone call about a sick note, I am sick and it hurts to speak, but from the very start the nurse was not allowing me any time to speak or think and just being 'assertive' (let's put it nicely) down the phone at me until I cried. I will argue that I was being reasonably clear, that why I didn't understand when she fired question after question at me like courtroom lawyer trying to catch someone out. She made it out as if I was the one not making sense when she clearly was not listening to what I had first said because we just reiterated details I had already given.
What a nice way to start a day 🙁

After reading the Google reviews I was expecting the whole appointment booking process to be a nightmare and it was not my case. Tip: book your f2f appointment on the day through the NHS app instead of calling. After booking mine, I got a confirmation phone call after 2min and when I got to the clinic I only had to wait for 10min. The doctor was friendly and helpful.

wow: i should have read the reviews before wasting my time here... empty surgery! (1:00pm friday 18th Oct, 2024), felt like a criminal trying to negotiate their security door (i'd actually phoned them standing outside, selected option 2 "speak to secretary" and got beep beep then a disconnect... told receptionist about this... she just blinks at me... bottom line these guys are very close by to my home and workplace, but i didnt get treatment (for a chronic arm condition that isnt going away)... "catchment area system" stinks... i'm less than 2 miles from city centre... will make official complaint to NHS.

I waited about 6 hours in the queue, only to reach number 1 and have the call end by itself. When I called again and finally got through, they told me they had finished work for the day. How can I not be angry in this situation, being treated like a fool? I pay the IHS every year but can't get treatment when I need it. They’re just wasting my money and time, leaving me completely disappointed.

The practise manager here has an agenda. Do not register here. She runs it like a business. The rest of the staff I feel sorry for. She is in the wrong job. I had been there since 2010. I moved address and my new address was accepted in 2020, now she has come along and took me off record!! I complained, requested callbacks, asked to meet her. Nothing!! Seems she's a keyboard warrior!! Previous manager was awesome!!

We registered with Halcyon Medical Practice in July this year. My wife has been suffering from endometriosis, which was diagnosed by a private consultant, and we paid a significant amount for the diagnosis. Since then, her condition has worsened, but every time we approached our GP about it, all we received were sympathetic words. The GP repeatedly told us there was nothing they could do and suggested we visit A&E and use painkillers.

What we found particularly frustrating is that today, after visiting A&E at City Hospital, a nurse showed us the relevant rules indicating that GPs have the authority to refer patients suffering from chronic conditions to a consultant on an urgent basis. This information confirmed our suspicion that the GPs at Halcyon have been avoiding the issue rather than trying to help. Despite my wife’s deteriorating health, they failed to take appropriate action or make the necessary referrals.

As an educated individual, I do not make accusations lightly, but Halcyon Medical Practice's handling of my wife's condition has led me to write this review with a heavy heart. The doctors here need to improve their services and take patient concerns more seriously. My wife’s health is suffering because of their inaction.
Very very disappointed!

Don’t waste your time with this lot if you can. I have had several issues. The latest being when I had a diabetes review appointment and when I arrived, I was told it was cancelled and no reason given. I was told that they phoned me and left a voicemail, which they didn’t. They sent me a text to confirm the appointment. I won’t be going back to them after that.

Useless GP center. They don’t even know what medicine to prescribe for my condition & wanted me to wait so long at the room as she need assistance from her senior. So unprofessional! Had already transferred to another GP center No point going here. Waste of time!
