I arrived at the reception desk, only to be completely ignored by the receptionist. There was no queue, and it was early in the day. The receptionist appeared to be an older woman, likely in her 50s, with white hair and glasses. Unfortunately, her manners were very poor, and this isn't the first time I've experienced this behaviour. I couldn't help but feel as though she was treating me differently, possibly due to my ethnicity, as her attitude seemed particularly unfriendly toward people of colour. Thankfully, another receptionist—a younger woman with blonde hair—noticed I hadn’t been helped and kindly checked me in. The surgery really needs to address this receptionist's attitude, as it's completely unprofessional. If this happens again, I'll be sure to ask for her name (Ms Shelia) and the issue directly. That said, the doctors are excellent, and I’ve always had a positive experience with them.

Ms Sheila from reception its the most rude person I ever meet in a clinic. I am with the clinic for over 4 years now and this is going to another level of discrimination and disrespect. Not only she was talking with mouth full of food but when I asked for a space/chair to breastfeed my 6 weeks old baby she offered me the toilet room, specifically suggested that I can seat on the toilet 🚽 seat as she cannot offer me any alternative . Luckily one of the Dr was there and absolutely shocked about this, she kindly offered me a chair in a safe space.
Ms Sheila is always extremely rude in person or over the phone or in person.

On one occasion as soon as I arrive at the reception she immediately asked me to have a seat in the waiting are and wait. After 30 min of waiting when I asked how long do I still have to wait for my appointment she said that I have not checked in so I might just missed my appointment.

I really do hope the clinic will do something in regards politeness, customer service and respect towards patients and anyone in general.

Receptionists are dreadful and offer preferential treatment to certain patients and seem to treat ethnic people differently, this is my second experience of this quite frankly racist nature at this place the first time i drove down there in rage but turned away at the last moment before i did something i may regret. Now with our most recent case… Please explain how my 82 year old father calls the surgery at 8.33 for an appointment for my mother AND himself and is told he cannot book 2 appointments? He explained it was for TWO different people and that his own appointment was regarding a complication with an operation he had had only 3 days prior. He was told he would need to book ONE appointment and call back and categorically could NOT book 2 appointments on one call… upon doing so and getting through LESS than 5 mins later he was told ALL appointments were gone and had to wait until the following day to see if he could get in, the following day the Dr sent him straight to A&E delayed of course by the dreadful receptionists at this circus of a surgery and is now undergoing procedure in A&E. What really touched a nerve was on THE VERY SAME MORNING my father was refused an appointment our next door neighbour had called and was given TWO SEPARATE APPOINTMENTS for just herself on one call? Needless to say my neighbour has a perfect English accent unlike my father. The doctors are fantastic and always offer great care, but the receptionists are not worthy of working in a drive through and really let the surgery down. This is not a training thing, this is a sack them and employ new staff thing!

This is singlehandedly the worst GP surgery I've ever had the misfortune of being a patient at. The receptions are exceptionally rude, consistently making mistakes with appointment times and then, when this brought to their attention they deny it and place all the blame on you for an missing appointment. Even when you bring evidence to back up your claim they ignore it and speak to you like you are nothing. They really lack empathy and even the newer receptionists have picked up this horrible culture of treating patients badly. This kind of behaviour honestly causes people stress when they are already unwell and need support - I can only imagine how this treatment affects people who are struggling with their mental health.

Additionally, we are a few years post covid and you still cannot get an appointment booked in advance. You have to ring at 8am and scramble to try and get an appointment that day. This is a disgrace of a practice and is only get worse as time passes.

Polite staff, well behaved and always considerate. Only thing that I don’t suggest them as 5 star is the NHS system of appointment that is disappointing everywhere around UK
Otherwise doctors, nurses, even receptionist are so helpful.

My entire family have been with this precious practice for nearly two and a half decades, that is quarter of a century.

Dr Dhandee, Dr Kumar and their staff had always been kind and helpful. Also the Great Nurses, Phlebotomists, Administration Staff including Receptionists.

This is a Gem of a Practice. If you are nice to people, they will always reciprocate.

Sheila and Dr. Khurram were ever so mindful and helpful going well out of the way to help me today, as long as I live I will not forget.

I have known Sheila for almost my time with the surgery, and she knows my family.

She is stern, but a kind person.

Never judge a book by its cover.

You need to know genuine people and guage them against fake.

I will never change my practice. It is the caring place.

Keep Up The Good Work and God Bless You All.

Unbelievably bad service from this GP. Got a phone call from a sarcastic doctor who had zero intention of helping. Was unable to attend the surgery so they was unable to help. Do you not cater for people who are unable to leave the house? No, just let them crack on.
Changing practice today.

As I suffer from Bipolar disorder and I have to go to GVMC on a regular basis for a Mental Health assessment.
I had an appointment there yesterday (03/09/2024) and had the ACP (Advanced Clinical Practitioner) who name is Anitha Proctor.

She was extremely pleasant and totally understood my situation regarding the BP and did a really proficient examination.

If anyone who reads this review and has BP I can’t recommend the Surgery enough ! The team that Dr Dhandee has brought together at GVMC , in my opinion , second to none !

Well done to all of you……….
