Got it! If the Medical Centre Family is forcing patients to call at exactly 8 AM to book an appointment and doesn’t offer any other options, that’s definitely frustrating and unfair.

Why is this a problem?
1. Lack of accessibility – Not everyone can call at 8 AM sharp (e.g., elderly patients, working people, parents with young kids).
2. Overloaded phone lines – When everyone calls at the same time, the system gets overwhelmed, making it hard to get through.
3. Unnecessary delays in healthcare – If someone fails to book an appointment, they have to try again the next day, causing delays in medical care.

Possible Solutions
• They should offer online booking, a mobile app, or allow appointment scheduling at different times during the day.
• Authorities should check if this policy meets healthcare service standards.
• Patients can file a formal complaint or report the issue to relevant health authorities.

Would you like to escalate this issue or suggest a better system to them?

Absolutely atrocious!!!! Try to book
An appointment and be told every single time no appointments available? Receptionist don’t listen and have zero compassion. I did have access to via NHS app , I tried to explain I didn’t need appt , just access again
( because they have deactivated it ? ) only to be told I need to book an appointment with a dr ? To reactivate the NHS App!!!! I only needed a review of medication and an ongoing referral . So frustrating!!! No wonder the NHS is overwhelmed… plus I am a NHS nurse working in an acute setting !

Has my blood test done today by a lady her name is Tanya Hennessey . She's tempary nurse covering for a nurse on maternity leave . Tanya is qualified nurse to take blood from my hand the others I seen in past only 1 can do it . As had problems there taking my blood as my vessels are hard to get . And they said can't do and go to hospital or another day. Which was a joke. I just saying Tanya be very good working here she was brilliant. Ok she did take my blood from my arm as she did it but if she couldn't Tanya can do hand blood test . So she is important to me and I guess other patients. I felt she new what she was doing professional. Others apart from 1 or 2 wasn't as good as Tanya hennessey. She's from London and brilliant . I love her to stay with you

I am not one to normally leave reviews but I feel that the Family Medical Centre deserve a positive review.
I have been registered with this GP practice for 3 years and I have always found them to be helpful and professional.
Thankfully I am a fit and well person as a rule and do not have to visit the GP on a regular basis.
I have unfortunately been having respiratory issues recently so I made an appointment to see a GP.
My GP Dr Susannah Fazekas saw me 90 minutes before my allocated appointment time as she was aware I was struggling with my breathing.
She examined me and placed me on Oxygen, rang for an ambulance to collect me from the surgery, phoned a family member to advise them I was being admitted to A&E and also contacted the RAU at the City Hospital to see if they could admit me rather than me having to wait hours at the QMC.
Dr Fazekas transferred me to a private room while waiting for the ambulance to arrive.
She kept checking up on me even bringing me a welcome cup of tea. Her care was second to none.
The following morning at 8am I received a phone call from Dr Fazekas when I was on the ward at the City Hospital to see how I was.
Thankfully I am now on the road to recovery at home thanks to my GP.

Worst medical centre ever. I have tried getting a appointment like 100s of times. Never got a single appointment. Always say capacity is full even when you call at 8am sharp. They forc you to call 8am in the morning just to make you hold for 40 min and tell you that capacity is full. There is no option to book online booking.

I have been registered with the practice since 2020. The service I have received has been excellent, the doctors and staff and admin team have all been very helpful and I have needed to use the surgery much more in the last year.
Dr Williams is the GP I have had regular contact with she has been very supportive.
GPs surgery often get poor feedback but I can honestly say I have been very impressed with The Family Medical Centre.

You either can't get through at all or are number 30 in tbe que....and then eventually told there are 0 appointments. The system is awful and the practice hasn't much empathy for patients.

I have either had a rude receptionist or my partner with his disability that is effecting his life doesn't seem to get much help.
The doctors give him promises then when he's supposed to be referred somewhere he doesn't hear anything.
Someone sits there and tells you they are in alot of pain and it's ruining there life you would think they would CARE but nope
