I have been using F G Brown opticians for around 5 years every 4 weeks for routine care of eye issues. The entire team , and I've met all of them many many times sometimes when I've been very stressed through eye pain etc , have always treated me in the most timely and caring manner. They go way beyond what's required. They have the absolute best equipment and they go to pains to check your getting every bit of caution and care you could ever receive. I literally couldn't function as I do now without the flexibility they offer me through their practice. 🙏

Definitely the best opticians I have experienced!

I recently visited F G Brown’s for my first routine eye test since lockdowns were in place. Having visited various independent and high street opticians over the years, the difference in care quality and attention to detail is immediately apparent here. All of the staff members I interacted with have been incredibly polite and courteous.

My eye examination was conducted by Mr Peacock… he took plenty of time to perform a very thorough check and was patient to explain what each test was looking for and the subsequent results.

All round it was a very good experience.

Following my own eye exam, I booked an appointment for my 6 year old daughter, she too experienced first class care when we visited today. On this occasion the team at F G Brown’s went above and beyond in assisting us in successfully attending the appointment, again exhibiting exemplary service, in a polite and courteous manner.

I could not recommend F G Brown’s highly enough and shall continue to use them as my opticians of choice.

This is the first time I have visited F.G Browns, and I definitely will return, as it is definitely the best opticians I have ever been to, I found the staff very helpful, and polite, and took time to explain things. The optician Miss Palmer was very polite and explained everything. I have a lazy eye which does not function as it should, but Miss Palmer was very patient, and gave me time to read the board, Miss Palmer also really done a thorough check of the back of my eyes as she said they were not as sharp as they were so took time to see if anything was noticeable, she even brought out a model of eye to explain things in better detail . I then decided after test to have the imaging photos done so they can get a better look at the retina and see further back, and this was explained in full that it can also show up other health problems. Because there was a problem that showed up Miss Palmer phoned me the next day and explained it and tried to help me so I would not worry, and asked if I would go back into surgery so she could take a better look using drops, another image was taken free of charge because problem still was not very noticeable, so full care was given, a follow up appointment was also made for 3 months to check the problem so I feel Miss Palmer is really taking great care to look after my sight. The lady who helped me choose my glasses was also very helpful, and advised me which frames were best, the gentleman who done the measurements was also very helpful. I went back today to collect my glasses, and I saw the gentleman who does the measurements, yet again very helpful, and got the same lady back to sought out clip on sunglasses for me. A very pleasant experience, and I definitely will look forward to returning in 3 months for the problem check, and then again when I return for my eye test in 12 months. I definitely will recommend FG Brown’s to anyone

I cannot complain about the service i have just received from FG Brown. After the Optimap the optician discovered spots behind my eyes. After a second test I was referred to my GP for tests and have since been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. For me I much prefer a one-to-one with an optician and ensure that I see that same one at my next visit. Browns gives me that opportunity

Needed an emergency appointment as I was having trouble with my eye and they fitted me in the same morning. I had never been to them before.
When I went in, they were fantastic - professional and friendly. It was a really personal experience and they really cared. These are now my opticians and I shall never go to Specsavers again. Highly recommended.

Great opticians. I've been going here many years for check ups, glasses, and contact lenses. But recently been in and out of hospital as few times with eye issues, and they've always been super quick in diagnosing problems and referring me hospital super quick. As well as really helping me get optimal vision following a few eye operations.

Was staying in the area and had an eye problem that required looking at asap.. Mr Peacock and the team at F G Brown were awesome, spending a ton of time with me to make sure all was okay. I can't thank them enough for helping out and even doing an ophthalmologist referral to have a second look.

Last thing, they have digital Optomap and OCT scans which is great for checking retina & everything.
