I signed up with Emerald because I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was worried how my wife of 54 years would manage after my death. My package from them was for someone to accompany my 79 year old wife when she goes shopping once a week and lock our door each night at 6-7pm. I can't say how badly this was managed. The carers turn up at anytime, my wife would become very distressed by the lack of routine. We made numerous calls to try and sort it out and I became frustrated by the management staff and their lack of empathy for us. We were reliant on them because we don't have children. Our mobility is limited, mine because I'm weak from the cancer and my wife can't stand or walk without an aid. The final straw came today when a manager from Emerald called today Tuesday and said as from Friday your not a priority so we're taking you off our list. We are not valued or listened to by them. Unfortunately for the carers they are being managed by unsympathetic goons. We're both in our 70s and feel like they have abandoned us. The care system is a licence to take money from the vulnerable . Good luck if you're with them, you're going to need it.

Appalling service from all the staff since November 15th when they have taken over my mums care it has been so stressful and upsetting for us both me her daughter and for my poor mum from the lack of care she receives from them on a daily basis.
I have complained and complained but every week I faced with yet another problem.
This company keeps taking on new clients but it can’t manage there existing clients, every other day I am getting phone calls as they don’t have the staff to provide the proper care my mum needs. I have to work full time too as everyone in this life does so i can’t always be there and this company is so bad that this is now getting to a point were something drastic needs to happen before someone either becomes seriously ill or even worse.
I will be contacting the CQC as I have reported them to safeguarding and they did an investigation which has helped some of the problems I was facing but still things are still really bad and for a care provider they should be providing care but unfortunately they can’t meet the standard requirements.

The actual carers are competent and professional ....the management is totally INCOMPETENT and lack any organisational skills and clearly don't ' care ' for their clients or indeed their staff.
Be honest with yourselves and stop taking on clients when you clearly cannot fulfill contractual commitments.

The carers are great..when they are trained properly but the office staff are very incompetent unprofessional go out there way to be spiteful and vindictive working for this company will damage your mental health they care about one thing and that is money will take on more clients but can't look after there existing ones properly or even care to..I would avoid at all costs

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not trust this shambolic company with the care of a loved one. Rude staff and a company clearly not fit for purpose. I use the word ‘care’ loosely as they clearly don’t
