Would write them 3 star. The Befrienders /cares really helpful as of the office admin are not so helpful let them know a month ago that I needed a date and time change as I am due to go away and would need them a couple of days before so I can get my last bits in as I can’t go out on my own for them to tell me that they can’t find any carers/Befrienders so now my holiday is cancelled so, so definitely only three star

After having a very poor experience with a different company and not knowing much about Eboney, I switched my Mothers care to them. It was the best decision I could possibly have made. The carers are mature (in other words, not schoolkids) and know exactly what has to be done, especially for personal care. When my Mother's situation worsened, the owner took a personal interest and spent a lot of time with my Mother supplementing the carers, including twice through the night. This is a company that does it right and which is led by an owner that has a passion for what her company does, and I will always be grateful for what they did for my Mother.

I cannot praise this company highly enough. They started to help me care for my husband in 2019 and he sadly died in November 2022 from Huntingtons Disease. Over time we had to increase his care to eventually 2 carers 4 times a day plus a sitter three times a week for 3 hours. The ladies adapted brilliantly to hubby's deteriorating condition ...we learned together. The owner/manager was very hands on whistle blowing on our behalf and taking a personal interest in his changing care needs. They went above and beyond often coming in between planned visits to help me with hoists etc. Employing a care company is a worrying thing but I was thoroughly satisfied with the company. They were well trained and professional at all times. Definitely a 5 star outfit.

Buses not sent out for the day centre due to less than half an inch of snow (that’s less on the ground than last week when they did pick up), and according to the weather apps (met office and Apple) no more snow forecast for Consett area, as turning to light rain already.
When asked if the day centre was still open if we brought mum the answer was “we don’t know if it’s open or not” Really? You don’t know if it’s open or not?
Adult day care is a vital service for people at the moment, we have one day a week where we can actually relax for a few hours, not worry about that mum is going to try and get up to about the house, and a chance to go to the supermarket and get the weeks supplies in. That’s out the window this week.

What about vulnerable people who live on their own with carers coming to cook meals? Are they just left home alone if it snows with no lunch as they won’t have a carer due if they are at the day centre?

First class, truly caring. My wife has dementia with all the attending difficulties. They too it all in their stride in their usual good natured way.
They will collect and deliver in a mini-bus, which was a helpful extra.
My wife was never sure when going, but she came home smiling, animated and joyful having clearly had a good time.

I don’t think any care company will look after our loved ones as we do ourselves , however having been with two previous care providers, I have found that ebony gave the best care provided to my mam , my mam loved the careers calling Any issues were easily sorted out , talked about and actioned I would recommend this company to any one looking for care providers.
