My name is John of Goole, DN14 6RL.

On Sunday June 16th evening I sustained a serious injury to my genital area requiring immediate attention.
My wife and I went immediately to the Goole emergency department. The response was it did not require immediate attention and I would have to go to Scunthorpe or Doncaster on my own accord ( not pleased at all). I dialled 999 because the NHS advise for this injury is immediate hospital attention, I got the same response from the ambulance service as I did from Goole hospital.

We made a dynamic decision and carefully drove to Doncaster even though we had drank a couple of beers. On arrival I was fast tracked through the emergency to a waiting area. Soon a doctor and a consultant came and said I need immediate surgery within 24hrs. We made a decision that a MRI scan would be done tomorrow then possible surgery. I was immediately admitted in. After a restless night I was cared for and consulted with to the highest professional standard by all the teams at the hospital. In the afternoon I went for my MRI scan, and again how nice to be dealt with by such pleasant people especially when suffering this sort of distressing trauma. Next was the surgery, where again the team was fantastic (not a great memory of this due been put under). I was returned to a room where my wife was waiting for me. Throughout the rest of my stay I received the professional care any one could have wished for. I was discharged on Tuesday June 18th afternoon. Please can you pass my sincere thanks to all the teams at the hospital for their professional and caring service.
Yours Truly
John
