I wish I could give minus stars. Honestly the worse practice. Can never book appointments on the day or in advance. I’ve waited an hour over time for a booked appointment. I’ve taken my child in for a check over after a chest infection as I was worried about her and was told that’s not what the drs are for. I got spoken to awfully and made to feel awful. I actually hate to call the drs now even for my daughter which I shouldn’t be made to feel. You can call 80 times and still not get through.

i don't even need to say anything. its a joke of a practice, no appointments, rude staff. Just close it down.

Editing to reply.
The introduction of this ridiculous phone first thing in the morning to fight for an appointment is your biggest downfall. Prior to this for non-emergencies you could phone up and book an appointment for 23 or four weeks time even. This means people could actually book an appointment. The way it is today means everybody calling at 8 o’clock in the morning regardless of the severity. Tried multiple times to get appointments and I’ve never been able to tell me to go online and use econsult, which is just as impossible to use and get an appointment. I’ve also been advised to book an appointment through your website which is an actual impossibility because the function is not there. It just seems that you want your patients to go away and not bother you.
I appreciate sometimes your reception Staff are not spoken to or treated with respect, but if I have shown them respect, I expect it back
I haven’t seen a doctor for a number of years now despite having at least two occasions where I really need one, I have a five-year-old and she has also needed Doctors several times and we’ve been left with the only option available to us of calling 111.
It isn’t my problem that you are overrun nor is it my problem that you aren’t available other Doctors have implemented different ways of booking appointments which has worked. You just seem to continue to use the system where we all have to fight against each other for the slim chance of winning Doctors appointment .
It’s equally frustrating when we visit the doctor surgery and firstly the waiting room appears to be full of fit and well people and secondly reception staff sat there ignoring the telephone ringing off the hook
It’s absolutely shocking that in 2024 after paying taxes all my life I cannot get simple medical care that I rarely need.

Cannot fault Didcot health centre, receptionists always polite and attentive. Drs Incredibly compassionate and helpful. Nurses are always kind, caring and understanding. And the paramedics are incredible, my children and I have had the best care from the paramedics, they are both so lovely, always willing to go out if their way to help you, they will do anything for anyone. Highly recommend and even though they are so busy they are always there to provide the best care to the patients.

Most pointless doctors surgery I have ever known. You call and all you get is engaged line and then when it does ring no one answers.

Ringing after 10:30 you will not get an appointment. Why would I ring then when you’re told to phone at 8:30 I really think your surgery needs to implement something so that people don’t feel the need to phone in at 8:30.

Doctors' , my sister has been suspected of having head and neck cancer which she wasn't even told face-to-face by a doctor when she went to her appointment , she found out on the NHS app notes. After a scan request, they said they wont refer her to a scan because she's under 40 years old. It's sick. You don't allow suspected cancer patients get a scan if they aren't older than 40. Honestly a joke.

The three stars are for the fact that when I have been able to see someone the practioners ( never a GP - in all my appointments I have not actually been able to see a GP) have been knowledgeable and helpful. Staff on reception are nice and polite but clearly working in very difficult circumstances. The system for booking appointments is beyond frustrating. Today I made over 130 consecutive calls from 8.30am onwards. 129 of those the line was engaged. When I finally got through to a queue 25 minutes later I was 12th in the queue. After waiting a further 20 minutes I spoke to a nice lady on reception who said that only emergency appointments were left. I have spent nearly an hour on the phone to be no further forward. Fortunately my condition is not acute but I worry for people who are not nimble or well enough to frantically make 120 calls in a row on repeated days. The people are nice but the system is madness. I am back at work next week and not sure how I can continue to make these calls to no avail.

Absolutely waste of space
You can't phone a Doctor can't see a Doctor!
Unless you are willing to stand outside at 8am to get an appointment for Dr call. Some of the receptionist are really nice but some are very rude with a I'm busy and in charge Attitude. Best Dr is Dr Telford listens to what your problem is...unfortunatly by the time you get an appointment. Something else has gone wrong. I know how busy they are ,but need to sort out bad receptionists.

I had a bad experience with one of the GP.I sent. a econsult form and he called me the third day after and instead of giving me a treatment he ask me to self refer myself to counseling ,telling already that counselling doesn't help.
