Absolute joke. Trying to get help for the past 8 years. I ended up spending 9 months in hospital. After i was discharged eating disorder where meant to be planing treatment for me. Spent 6 months trying to get an appointment with them, to find out what plan they had put together. Turns out they had done nothing for the whole time. Meanwhile I suffer every day having to force myself to eat. Disgusting.

Been mucked around for 3 months with assessments over the phone and video call. All of which keeps freezing then having to have to be called back and then to be told last month I would need to be booked in face to face for assesment. Waited for new date of assessment to yet receive another text saying it will be done by video call again and then a letter in the post to say it was face to face. Called to see what way i was being seen to which I was told it was a mistake and it will be done by video call again. Again 2 weeks ago on the video call it non stop freezes. Got a call back again to be told I would be contacted 2 weeks ago after she had spoken woth a physcaryrist and that I would be called on a Wednesday. Still haven't heard back and after contacting wonford house to see what was happening I was told they would contact joanna carvalho to chase this up and I still haven't heard. Felt like I was overtalked on the phone when trying to explain my issues with her. Anyway, I've had no contact as promised on next steps with medication after she would speak to another phycartist but still been left hanging around . Rather rude and inconciderate after I made the effect myself to be mucked around by them for 2 months with them. Will let my GP know and I feel I needed to leave this review how I've been treated . All this time I may aswell contacted services myself for help elsewhere as I haven't had the support here. Just feel sorry for people that could be more vulnerable than me who has been left like this. If the fact is that joanna maybe busy and side tracked then an explanation would be nice on why joanna has left my waiting around. Please in future could you not give out promises of contact and leave patients hanging in the lurch. Sorry tompoatnthis review but dissatisfied in how I've been treated . I'm.not going to track this up as I have done enough chasing for the outcome to no avail.

Stay away as far as you can to avoid this "hell on earth".
Unneeded toxic drug will ruin your whole life.
Even if you or your loved one really suffering from any mental illness. You still have medical freedom of choice.
Using all dirty means manipulate people specially health people into toxic drug destroy their health is not "support" but "torture" .
If you are really there to help support people's rental health.why do not you operate openly with transparency, honestly?
Why over 50 death immature under your "care"? Within a few month time?5th highest among 52 mental health trust. Any unrecorded death ? What roles of independent managers?Are they truly independent ?

Overall made to feel worse. Especially with the HTT. Meanwhile local community mental health team / services are much more compassionate.

Received a letter saying I had called The Firest Response a few too many times, however have not for over 4 weeks at the time of this review, in my defense if the team actually had a working phone line and employed people that spoke English as their 1st language and stopped hanging up on me when I called I wouldn't have had to call them as much as I had.

Depends who you speak to, some are ok and others are not.

When not inaccurately diagnosing people without assessments, describing how every issue including suicidal thoughts and serious psychiatric alterations are in fact entirely the patients fault, staff generally agree they do not

A) have a magic Wand
B) have a magic pill
C) the blame for everything including high crisis moments is a fault of the patients own failing and denial of their own lack of effort

The staff tend to be pleasant with fixed grins, empathy ground to the bone from awful working conditions and burn out coinciding with arrogant, patriarchal and uninterested Psychiatrists this hospital is the perfect place to go if you require the last straw for your back and a hearty kick out the door.

Excellent service also in muting patient voices and denying patients feelings to the point of serious consequences.

For the sake of your own and anyone else's mental health I highly recommend seeking out a professional advocate to attend appointments as well as getting help organising any and all information in an orderly and simple way to reduce as much of the stress and the misunderstandings as possible so that any interaction may at least provide some positive results.

Accessing private help and support plus charitable and voluntary sectors is also good as sole reliance on a confusing, underfunded, uncaring institution will likely not provide the full help and care needed.

The mental health assessment side of Wonford House never answers their phone. It's impossible to get through to talk to anybody. If you call the number listed here someone picks up but they can't help since it's not the right department. My doctor told me I urgently needed another appointment and I've been waiting for six weeks now for them to even send me a letter with an appointment scheduled. They are negligent and interfering with critical treatment all because they can't get organized.

my mum was taken here from Paignton and treated like dirt on a shoe. All my family rung up to ask to speak to her and were told when she is ready to ring she will be able to. My mum come home and said they never gave her a phone or told her this. She was searched in soaking wet clothes, given a small pillow and a stained blanket and the police officer who took her there gave her 4 bruises on her arm when she was compliant. If i could give this 0 starts i would. Shocking for a mental health hospital
