I was not impressed with the doctors surgery at first but if you physically go in as apposed to calling the reception staff are particularly helpful. I ran out of my inhaler Friday. Less than an hour before closing. Went in on the off chance they would help me. Wasn't expecting them to in all fairness. The receptionist went to see the doctor on my behalf and came back with a prescription so I wasn't without my inhaler all weekend! I dunno about you but I've never in my life encountered such helpful amd friendly doctors receptionists.

Staff at Denaby are very friendly on reception. The whole call to book an appointment is really bad tbh, always 5 people ahead of you only to get through and all appointments gone, cant pre book for non urgent issues. Have been sent over to mexborough to have a 5 min appointment....45 mins to get there then 45 mins back!! They should get more staff on the call system its pretty bad

Very friendly staff and the building itself is pretty brand new. BUT, the issue that myself and many face is making appointments. Since the takeover this year, you can only make same day appointments or 4-6 weeks in advance. The online booking service has been down since takeover and it doesn't look like the owner cares about getting it fixed as its been well over 6 months. To add more frustration, making a same day appointment is an absolute nightmare. The phone line opens at 8am but the chances of getting through is slim and you plagued with line busy and need to recall back straightaway. It took 80+ calls till 8:25am before I got through (sometimes I get lucky and sometimes I wonder why I even bothered). And when you do get through, you are in a long queue. But that does not mean you are guaranteed an appointment. If you make it this far, you MIGHT be lucky to get the last 1-2 appointments on the day, in some cases at a different practice such as Mexborough. I'm not sure why the system for making appointments is broken but I wonder if it is due to the number of doctors available; I've only seen one doctor active at both sites despite all the names on the board and several rooms available. Also, to make matters worse, almost every Wednesday afternoon is training day so if normally making an appointment is like a nightmare, you can imagine all those that were unable to make an appointment on Wednesday will be piling in on Thursday morning. This must change, this is ridiculous on the highest level.

My wife and I have been with Denaby Medical practise since 2004, which also gives us access to Conisbrough, Mexbrough and Askern medical practises.
Owing to our ages of 70 and 71, we do use the services quite often, but hopefully not to the detriment of other customers.
Throughout the years we have never not been able to get an appointment at short notice when it has been needed.
We do tend to visit the surgery in person as they open and speak to the receptionist in person.
Praise has to go to the receptionist (at all the practices), who have always been very professional, polite and chatty while dealing with our queries quickly, and we have been in a position where a lot of the time they have gone out of their way to offer non medical advise and help.
Unfortunately, we are not allowed to name names to praise all the staff and nurses that have dealt with us over the years, (and this includes, tongue in cheek) Who I call our Blood nurse.
All the staff are so efficient, which obviously comes from top management right down to the cleaners who also do a brilliant job.
We have also been very lucky over the years with the doctors and Practice nurses that have seen us. BRILLIANT. BRILLIANT BRILLIANT.
We do find it very frustrating when we hear in the news about people not being able to get appointments at their respective surgeries, and complain about the staff.
Thankfully, that is not how we feel about our medical staff at all the above mentioned practises.
A REAL HEART FELT THANK YOU TO EVERYONE.

I booked an appointment for blood tests on the 30 may couldn’t get one untill 13 July so ok I waited that long and had the tests done on the 13 July rang dr today 19 July on hold for 34 mins before being told I’d already got my results shock horror no I didn’t now dr looked at my results can’t be bothered to ring me with result a in-house chemist will ring me in august with results it’s a joke iv been with this dr for over 2 years and only been able to see a dr 3 times and one of those appointment was at conisborough last year I had a heart attack and was told I’m now suffering heart failure did this change things no it didn’t angry is not the word

Call back after 10:30 when our lines are "less busy"
Lets put it this way 31 mins waiting to cancel an appointment and only now number 2 in the queue.
I really hope who ever owns this practice starts pulling their finger out!
Everytime you want to book ANY kind of appointment you get told to call in the morning and book an emergency appointment. I suffer from asthma just moved here and try to book a box standard appointment get told to call at 8am when the lines don't get turned on till 8:30....
BTW only one number for ALL the practices they run.
And if I hang up or my minutes run out I get done for not cancelling!!!!
Argued with me yesterday that theit phone lines open at 8 and she takes calls. The phone lines even say 8:30 she also argued that 111 don't send appointments for her next breath of all the 111 appointments have been taken. Point out the clear lie they lie again. Close at 6 doctor leaves at 5:40. And that's coming from the "site manager" can you not give stars?

I had been trying to get to see my doctor for 8 days. Eventually I got an appointment at Denaby. I must say that it was a very pleasant experience.

Not sure how this surgery got three stars...phoned this morning at 8am for an appointment after 25 min on hold listening to the same irritating automated man saying that they are busy, eventually got through only to be told all the appointments had gone. I wasn't happy and asked the woman to explain how that is possible when Ive been on hold since 8am..I was then forced to book an appointment at the conisbrough branch..for 11:10... I got there at 11am to be prompt, i was still there at 12:20 so i asked when i was to been seen, she told me some excuse and said they were running late and there was another two patients in-front of me, there was only three people in the waiting room, i commented that cant be correct and told her to cancel the appointment. I wasn't waiting another 30min or so in a stuffy waiting room with people coughing and sneezing everywhere....what an appalling service
