Moved from skelmanthorpe doctors to here a few months ago, at first they seemed helpful and knowledgable. A couple months ago I went about a chest infection which I'm prone to and have had about ten in the last 4 years. Anyway everytime I had a chest infection at skelmanthorpe I got given anti biotics straight away apart from anything else they knew I was prone to them and also trusted my word knowing what chest infections were like after having so many. Got told here it wasn’t a chest infection and it was viral. Anyway a few days later I was in hospital for it and they gave me anti biotics straight away which worked. This time about 3 days ago I went in with a chest infection as I was producing very yellow/green thick phlegm. Got told it was viral again, never even listened to my chest. Never took into account the people I live with haven’t caught it and still haven’t. To top it off I saw a nurse instead of a doctor. Anyway got told it would get better in a few days and due to anxiety it feels worse to me. Baring in mind I’ve not had anxiety in years and don’t think I would have anxiety over a chest infection when I’ve recently had cancer and finished chemotherapy if anything would bring my anxiety back that would have. Basically nurses doing doctors jobs here. Rung 111 and they offered me a face to face appointment. The doctor at Huddersfield royal said let me see the phlegm, as soon as she saw the colour of it she said that’s a chest infection and gave me anti biotics straight away. Also said since I’m prone she takes my word for knowing what they are. Seriously debating going back to Skelmanthorpe at this point. Very disappointed.

My husband and I have nothing but praise for all the three doctors and the administrative staff at this Health Centre. The atmosphere is always friendly and the staff pleasant, professional, caring and helpful. Whenever we have needed help they have been there for us. Many thanks to them all. We are so lucky to be patients there. Outstanding service all round.

Our family has been coming to DVHC for 20 years. In that time there have been just two hiccups which were swiftly put right. I have nothing but praise for this practice and its doctors: Dr Ash, Dr Hirst and Dr Harris as well as Advanced Nurse Practitioner Kirsty Cronin. Also all the reception staff, admin and nurses are all wonderful. As well as being marvellous doctors and staff, everyone at the practice cares a great deal and runs things with super efficiency. So I just wanted to say thank you very much for all you do.

Don't listen to the MA person review, they are clearly just one of those people. I've been using this GP since I was a baby (and for many reasons too) The staff have been nothing but lovely. I get my appointments on time get treated and leave a healthy person. What more can you ask from a doctor's surgery
