It has taken me several months to be able to write this review given my father’s experience in Danetre Hospital last August 2024. There were stand out staff among the nursing / care team who were excellent in caring for my father so the experience was not totally negative and I do not wish to tar all staff with the same brush. Having reviewed my fathers discharge letter now that we have a power of attorney in place I am saddened and angry to see an episode of agitation and distress described as a behaviour issue and not it’s true reason. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease shortly after leaving Danetre hence when he was informed he had outstayed his welcome and was told he had to leave he became anxious. The delay in his discharge was down to those staff responsible who were not listening or coordinating with other organisations as we his family had requested. Compared to our experience at Northampton Hospital which was exemplary, Danetre was a nightmare. Ps I am a Registered Nurse

What a wonderful hospital and staff. I visited a relative who is an inpatient here. Every staff member who walked past smiled and said hello. Everyone was so helpful from the second I arrived and asked for directions from staff members who were out on a break. Nothing was too much trouble for the fabulous staff, it must be such a wonderful place to work, it certainly was to visit. I was visiting a very poorly relative, I’m not local to the area and felt a certain level of stress due to all this, however I came away feeling calm, due to the treatment I received and the care I can see my dear relative receiving. The building is lovely and modern with so many lovely touches such as a beautiful living wall, bird feeders on some windows and home touches such as patchwork quilts and wall murals, all this and free parking. If this hospital was a lager, it would probably be Carlsberg.

Just been here to have an X-Ray that was organised by my doctor. They phoned me within 2 days to get booked in, and even offered me a same day appointment. However I could not do same day, so next day it was. I slightly early, but this did not phase them, was taken in and seen by a lovely X-Ray nurse, who was very happy and explained everything. Literally could not ask for better service.
