Thank you so much to All the Angels in Cygnet Hospital for their 5 star Care, Compassion and warmth. They have managed, between all service users and Staff, to turn my darkness into light. For that I am eternally Grateful to each and everyone at this Fantastically run facility!!!!! Big thanks and a round of applause for Steven also. I was unfortunately admitted to harrogate sanctuary ward late last October due to my mental health deteriorating. I was terrified and in a really terrible place mentally. From the start of my stay, I was treated impeccably, from the housekeeping staff , kitchen staff, OT staff, Support Workers and Nurses. All staff made time to talk and listen. The Doctor's always listened to what you had to say in terms of your treatment, never dismissed you. You have regular weekly ward rounds and even had 121 sessions every day if you required them with any support worker or nurse. They all had time to listen and reassure you. I can not fault The cygnet hospital or any member of staff for all their hard work and empathy. The meals at the cygnet are first class and the housekeeping team kept the whole hospital spotless. I thank the whole team for getting me to where I am and I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone who needs such care . If there were more stars, I would definitely give them. Thank you all for everything you have done for me the past 13 weeks. You will always be remembered as my heroes.

I came to Harrogate a year ago and it was awful. Staff ignored you and did nothing when u were distressed. I was only there a week and then transferred to another hospital thankfully. This year I was detained and sent to Harrogate again and was really upset about going. I can honestly say it's the best hospital I have been to. It's changed so much in one year. Staff are great. It's so clean. Food is great. Regular ward round with great doctors. Can't fault the place. I only wished I could have had my discharge from there as unfortunately was repatriated back to a different hospital which is poor. So thanks to all of the staff at Harrogate. Whilst I'm still experiencing some difficulties I made huge progress with their help and support. I think the changes they have made to the place in year should be commended. As a nurse myself I could easily tear things apart but I honestly can't fault them.

Since I've been on Haven ward, I've been treated with kindness and compassion by all the teams. Nurses, OT, Psychology (Casey) and Dr Layth has been amazing from start to finish. Highly recommend if you need an admission. I have been given cards to help me communicate which really help.

Housekeeping have really looked after me and they keep your room tip top. They're very empathetic, the unit is very clean and tidy. The food is very good and the chef's are amazing. The maintenance staff are amazing and helpful. Reception are so kind and respectful.

A massive thank you to all staff.

Spring 2024
I was in Haven Ward for 6 weeks having been sectioned after taking an overdose.
I was extremely frail and weak for tye first 2 weeks, but with the help of excellent catering and an appropriate diet I quickly put on 2 stones in weight, which then got me up and about and slowly out and about with the Occupational Therapy team who were super encouraging and willing to listen, talk and understand at my pace.
This allowed me to develop my natural sporting abilities on the Harrogate tennis court with other patients and staff.
The Occupational therapy encouraged me in my ambitions through art therapy which was definitely the deciding factor in my recovery, the fact that they picked up on this straight away was so skillful and without doubt a life saver!
As my recovery opened up I quickly made friends with other patients and this also was encouraged and a benefit to everyone I came in contact with.
My wife visited every weekend which was encouraged by the staff and doctors and this greatly helped as she was made to feel welcome and part of my recovery.
I would like to say that all the staff on Haven ward were super attentive, understanding, full of enthusiasm and extremely caring.
The care I received here was exceptional and has definitely helped with mine and my wife's lives going forward, as the experiences I had there I can and will use and develop in the future.
I cannot stress enough what a super place Cygnet Harrogate and specifically Haven Ward is to recover the staff are second to none.......5 stars plus!

I'm a patient at cygnet hospital harrogate and have been here for 8 weeks the staff are great and the doctors have tried there best and listened to me ..the nurses have made it feel like I'm not in hospital. and in particular assistant phycologist casey who I have had numerous sessions with has really helped me out she has been one of the only people in my life I have been able to open up to and address certain things that have played a major part in my mental health I feel like she genuinely cares it comforts me seeing her around the ward knowing she's there if I need her on my bad days i cant thank her enough ..I get on really well with the nurse James he feels like I'm talking to one of my mates and not staff and sammi always goes out her way to check I'm okay ..the food is nicer than I expected and I have to say the cleaners and maintenance staff do a great job too.

The service you provide for family members is very valued and appreciated as you go above and beyond to show support for family members

15 minutes for a diagnosis tells all you need to know about the psychiatrist( 2020).
People lose their trust for psychiatry because of these freudians.
Hopefully this helps someone.
