I had my daughter here 5 months ago and wanted to say what a wonderful experience it was. From being seen in the Women's Outpatient Department to having her in the Maternity Ward, every single member of staff we encountered treated us so kindly. We were always met with a smile and even when we experienced pregnancy complications the staff were quick to act and helped us feel calm. Thank you so much.

After a very traumatic fall I ended up in A&E. All staff from Ambulance through Nursing, Registrars, Radiology, to Consultants was sympathetic, caring, knowledgeable and professional. After thorough treatment and referrals for further treatment, I was sent home, knowing that the best had been done for me. Do you know that a typical evening shift for Ambulances in Carlisle are only 5 vehicles are available, for a population of over 30 thousand?!

Modern NHS hospital, the hospital itself is a bit hard to navigate but the staff are helpful and friendly. I went here for an appointment with my husband, we didn't have to wait long to be seen but we found the communication from the hospital unclear. We thought we were meant to be attending for an endoscopy arranged by our GP, instead it was an appointment for seeing a gastroenterologist to review the case and arrange any associated tests needed including an endoscopy. Parking is very busy, finding a space can be a bit of a hardship but the car park isn't overpriced like some hospitals in the south of England.

I'm a GP and had the misfortune of needing to visit a and e recently due to an injury. While i was waiting i was struck by how brilliantly run and managed the a and e department is. The nurse on triage for the walk in patients was fantasticly calming and efficient with everyone that came in. Flow through the department seemed excellent despite how busy i know it is. The nhs is in a bad way but this department is doing a fantastic job of managing the situation and giving the best experience it can to it's patients. Thank you.

When I have went to A&E I have always seen dedicated, caring and professional people trying to do there very best in extremely difficult and sometimes emotionally hard times. Recently I visited and Hazel was very thorough in trying to find what was wrong with me. If we all could just take a step back and think they are human, they are trying there best every time and they see more of lives struggles than most jobs. Hats off to ye all , and keep it up

Situated off Newton Road on the B5307 just outside city centre. Plenty of parking space for visitors unfortunately you have to pay. Site is large and well signposted. At the main entrance there is security to monitor the flow of people. The entrance is normally a revolving door but due to covid its locked open. Mask are no longer compulsory and there is a one way system inside which must be adhered to for everyones safety. The staff are great very friendly and helpful and totally professional. This is a good hospital offering a good duty of care to patients. It's well signposted from the main road.. If you find your self at the hospital with a relative who is suffering from end of life (eol). See the sister and she will sort out your parking for free as you will have more than enough to cope with. This hospital goes the extra mile A recent addition is the opening of the new cancer unit situated by the main entrance. This has state of the art technology a great addition to this superb hospital. Good to see this hospital is maintaining high standards despite covid. This hospital and its staff go the extra mile to look after patients great duty of care. Have recently discovered a gem of a garden hidden by the bus stop near main entrance. A great place to be with your loved ones. It's next to the Cancer centre.

The staff here are simply the best people in the World, nothing is too much trouble for them despite the shit they have to endure from the public every hour of the day.
Been admitted here several times in the past two years and owe my life to them.

The wait times in A and E are now beyond a joke. Senior management need to look at how this hospital is being run and the people in charge. There are so many things wrong when you are here it is actually quite frightening. It would be funny if it was a comedy sketch but unfortunately this is real life for the people of Carlisle
