If you receive any communication from this practice regarding your online activity you should know that this is :

1) Appalling behaviour on their part and tantamount to bullying.
2) Is almost certainly illegal and you may be entitled to damages.

Organisations including the Met Police have been successfully sued for such behaviour. I beleive the original test case was Halliday vs Creation Consumer Finance LTD.

Awarded £750 for breach of the Data Protection Act + damages.
