I do not rate this practice at all, since moving to the area 3 years ago. It actually worries me as a patient and as a health professional myself, how this service is being run.
They lost my medical records initially and halted my partners daily medical treatment that cannot be stopped.
It takes at least 20 mins to get through on the phone, there is a continuous message about either joining the patient group or rude behaviour that won’t be tolerated, not such a great promotion of a service provider. No wonder people get irate when waiting on the phone for too long.
They insist on making a GP appointment for small tasks that could be managed by a simple telephone review call. They are wasting valuable GP appointments.
It really concerns me how this service is being managed. There is a large elderly population in the area and my question is, are these people receiving the adequate health care they need? Probably not.

For some reason there has been a huge decline in the service provided by this GP. Rang when I was in agony with a uti, all I needed was antibiotics and got told no appointments were available . . . Like ever. They couldn't issue a prescription for meds or even let me speak to a doctor. 111 sorted me a prescription immediately and within hours I felt better. More recently absolutely crippled with pain and the runs, and refused to accept a stool sample! Again 111 had to get in touch with them telling them to take my sample. It's sad this place has deteriorated so much, our health is important!

Constant wrong diagnoses from doctors in this place. Came in with our 2 year old child for hand foot and mouth as that's exactly what it looked like and to be told it's viral was concerning!
Got a second opinion privately at a cost just the next day and they confirmed it's hand foot and mouth but also she has a chest infection.
We could have took crawcrook doctors diagnoses and sent our child into nursery and this could have spread! I have no more words for this place. Very disappointing.

Been with these for over two years & medication orders are frequently
messed up. Either when I order items they don't arrive or when items are on automatic repeat they either don't arrive or arrive too early which sometimes has meant I've had to bin surplus items.
Today I will be making a complaint & I'm also considering looking for another surgery. 😡

I complained to the practice about their level of admin service, I have waited months for them to reply. Now I have engaged the service of ICAS an advocacy service to act on my behalf. The practice simply will not address my complaint or even communicate. I have now moved to another practice.

I injured my lower back and got given physiotherapy. They didn't know what the problem was with my back as they wouldn't refer me for a scan. After only a couple of days into the physiotherapy, the pain increased in my back and started to go into my buttocks and leg (sciatica). The pain was so severe that I couldn't sleep, couldn't walk properly, I had to have 7 weeks off work and try multiple different medications. I still wasn't given a scan despite my unbearable pain, so i ended up paying for my own private MRI scan which revealed that I have a moderate to large disc protusion in my lower back pushing against my nerve. At the point I injured my back I had no nerve pain whatsoever and was slowly starting to see improvement until I did the recommended physio exercises. I googled the exercise I was told to do and on multiple websites it stated NOT to do this exercise with disc herniation as it can make it worse. Exercises shouldn't be recommended which can make conditions worse if you don't know what the cause of the pain is as it can cause long term damage.
The GP also referred me to TIMS physio team despite physio making me worse, and only after I paid for my MRI scan and showed them the proof of my injury they referred me to TIMS spinal team. I shouldn't have had to pay for the opportunity to be seen to by the team I needed.

What a shambles primary care now is & is it any wonder there are so many excess deaths as the service is so difficult to access many just give up. Rang at 08.00, on hold until 08.30 only to be told there are no same day appointments & nothing bookable 14 days ahead across all four practices. Options, call the next day, for probably more of the same, or ring 111 which I did as the Blaydon walk in centre is no longer seeing people walking in!!. Spoke to someone at 111 & they said someone would call within two hours. Received a phone call an hour later & the line went dead & didn't call back! Beyond frustrating.
