I had such a painful shopping experience today. While I was browsing, I placed a few items in my bag, and a staff member approached me with a basket, explaining that his manager had asked him to give it to me because I was being viewed as a potential shoplifter. The entire time, I could feel eyes on me, like I was being watched and judged. When I went to pay, I even offered my receipt, but they dismissed it, saying it wasn’t necessary. I’m new to Hatfield, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was being singled out because of the color of my skin. It hurt, especially when they had cameras and systems in place, yet chose to make me feel this way just for using my own bag.

Do not buy a chicken and bacon Caesar wrap from Co-op on bishops rise, it’s made me violently ill with food poisoning! It was in date but I think must have gone off somehow!

Nothing wrong with the co-op itself but somehow they are using carparking sharks now in the carpark, which is only small. Trying to charge me £100 fine for less than 10minutes parking!! Shan't be shopping there again!! Look carefully as signs are very unclear.

Older lady on the till who clearly has a problem with me, stares at me every single time I do a shop (almost everyday as it’s very local). The first time I ever went in there she radioed through to a colleague of hers very loudly telling him to keep an eye on me (accusing me of stealing) I can’t help but assume that this is because of the way I dress. It almost seems as there is some prejudice as her issue with me seems… ‘political’ should I say.
Talks and chats with the other customers she serves but goes quiet when it’s my turn to be served. It’s a shame really because I dread going in there if she is working as it’s really very uncomfortable.

Co-op supermarket is a reliable and community-focused retailer offering high-quality products and excellent customer service. While their prices may be slightly higher and their range more limited, the ethical values and local convenience they provide make them a preferred choice for many shoppers. Whether you're looking for everyday essentials or seeking to support a supermarket with strong ethical standards, Co-op is a commendable option.

I ordered from the coop through the Just Eat app 1 yogurt, a bottle of Coca Cola, and two 5-liter bottles of water, but the water bottles didn't arrived. I had to personally go to the store to see what happened to my order. I paid for the delivery for nothing if I had to go to the store to solve the problem. When I got to the store, my water bottles were there; they hadn't been handed to the delivery guy. The staff is very poorly trained, when handing the order to the delivery person they don't even check the receipt to make sure all the products are there. It was a very bad experience, a total lack of professionalism. If I hadn't chosen to go to the store, I would have been scammed. I don't recommend it to anyone. I will never order from this store again.

The Co-op supermarket, part of the Co-operative Group, is a well-established retail chain in the UK known for its ethical stance, community focus, and range of grocery products. With stores scattered across various neighborhoods, Co-op provides convenient shopping options for many residents.

Product Range and Quality
Co-op offers a broad selection of products, including fresh produce, bakery items, dairy, meats, ready meals, and a variety of household essentials. The quality of their products is generally high, with a notable emphasis on sourcing local and sustainable goods. Their own-brand items, especially the Fairtrade and responsibly sourced lines, are particularly commendable for their quality and ethical standards.

While Co-op is not always the cheapest option compared to some of the larger supermarket chains, it provides good value, especially through its membership scheme. Members can benefit from regular discounts and earn rewards, making shopping more economical in the long run. Additionally, their focus on Fairtrade and ethically sourced products can justify the slightly higher prices for many shoppers.

Customer service at Co-op is typically friendly and helpful. Staff are often well-trained and knowledgeable, creating a pleasant shopping experience. The stores are generally clean, well-organized, and easy to navigate, which adds to the overall positive customer experience.

Community and Ethical Focus
One of Co-op's standout features is its commitment to community and ethical practices. The supermarket reinvests a portion of its profits into local communities and supports various charitable initiatives. Their strong stance on environmental sustainability, fair wages, and ethical sourcing sets them apart from many competitors.

Co-op stores are strategically located in residential areas, making them highly convenient for quick and frequent shopping trips. The stores' smaller size compared to larger supermarket chains can be a plus for those looking to avoid the crowds and long lines of bigger stores.
Areas for Improvement
Despite many positives, there are a few areas where Co-op could improve. Their prices, though justified by their ethical commitments, can be a barrier for budget-conscious shoppers. Additionally, the smaller store sizes mean that the product range can sometimes be limited compared to larger supermarkets.

I’m not usually the type of person to go out of my way to leave a review but here I am. I don’t know how the staff here got hired in the first place. The issue is that whenever I order shopping (through UberEats) , they never seem to find anything! The first time this happened, I called the shop and guided the person on the phone to find this product, they apologised but I knew it was either just laziness or they don’t know the place they work at very well. Today this happened again with two products which I know they have because I came in just yesterday and find it hard to believe that they sold out on both in one day. I called many times in order to help them find it and they did not answer. When I received my shopping I also received a similar but different product which was cheaper than what I paid for and this never got exchanged on the app. I have come in before and staff are texting on their phones and I have many times picked up mouldy products which I had to exchange at the till when I noticed. I think the service here is unprofessional.
