I know we are in very testing times and the NHS is so stretched but I have to say that every time I have approached coltishall practice regarding my small children they have been so accommodating and I’m sure they often hear from people when they can’t meet their needs so I wanted to express how impressed and grateful I am to everyone I have dealt with in this practice. Moved to the area back in April and unfortunately have not had 1 good experience with them.
Currently pregnant and have messed up countless appointments for me and not even booking me in at some points.
Now they wont take my partners mental health seriously.
Took two weeks to get a phone call appointment, for them to never call and now be given a face to face appointment whereby he was told to 'focus on the future' and count down from 300.
Unfortunately i just dont think this is good enough, and people wonder why theres such a high rate of mens suicide and mental health, because they are not taken seriously.
Please sort this out.

I can not recommend this doctors surgery enough. I have unfortunately had to visit a few times over the past few months but have been treated with such care and compassion. At a recent appointment a problem was picked up with my eye, I was immediately sent to a MECS centre which then led to an emergency hospital referral. Had this doctor not have taken his time with me I could have lost my sight and had no idea, I would have ignored it. Who ever I have seen at this practice they have always been friendly, listened, given great advice and referrals have been made when necessary. I’ve never had a problem getting an appointment, phones are always answered, receptionists are always friendly and helpful. A great surgery through and through. Thank you to all the staff.

I wanted to say thank you very much for the wonderful care I received from the surgery during my recent illness. We were on holiday in the area when I became very unwell. My husband rang up and a receptionist gave me an appointment withPetra. Petra was very kind and treated me very professionally and arranged an appointment at the Norwich hospital eye casualty for the next day. I am now on the mend and it appears my sight hasn't been made worse by the shingles outbreak. Thank you so much to everyone at the practice.

Moved into the area 12 months ago and have had nothing but issues here. Have had to constantly call up when I’ve been told I would be contacted and never have been, often times being told I wasn’t even down to be contacted.

Trying to book an appointment is nearly impossible, I’ve been told they can’t give a date or time on the phone and just expect me to be available for them to book something in.

My partner booked an appointment here, but when got to the surgery was told it wasn’t with them and instead was with their sister clinic. My partner and I had never been to the other clinic and she was never told it was there, so ended up being late for her appointment.

Would avoid if possible as this place really gives off a sense of we don’t care.

Can't fault them they have bent over backwards to help my elderly parents since they moved to Norfolk they have an amazing and very caring receptionist 'laura' who as I am my mothers carer 24 hrs a day has done everything possible to make life easy for me and my situation. Any problems are sorted out and they always call to inform you how things are going, the doctors are great and just pop out or call to check my mother is ok where else would you get such great service. Highly recommend to all . Can't thank them enough for helping my parents with all our recent problems.

What happened !!!

This is the parent unit of Spixworth and this review is mainly for Spixworth, however some decisions where made here
This surgery ( Coltishall and Spixworth) is okay so long as you don’t want to do anything outside of the box or anything from receptionists on a busy Monday morning.
Due to my medical condition I am on medication for life but since being with Spixworth Surgery they have tried to deny me my medication and one weekend I even ended up in A&E because they missed my medication off and I had to go to hospital ( a complaint was raised at the time via PALS) but nothing was every done about it.
To exaggerate things even more when I moved home one Saturday and told reception I would be moving and asked for advice. They told me as soon as I moved to register with my new practice but before doing so make sure I had enough medication. By the Monday as I moved in on the Saturday I received a letter saying they where withdrawing a duty of care for me and even though I had not had time to register with a new practice yet and against the words of the receptionist I was without medication.

I strongly recommend anyone to think twice about joining this practice. As you have just read the needs of the many are ignored for the needs of the few.
A small village practice like this should be putting the villagers health and well being first Each GP practice and GP that looks after you has a duty of care, after all each medically ( excluding receptionist) trained staff took the Hippocratic oath to help treat patients to the best of their ability yet ending up in A&E because medication failed to be prescribed is a breach of the Hippocratic oath.
I could go on for ages but I won’t. If you are left with no other option than to choose this practice ask to see your medical notes every 3/4 months to make sure everything is correct and they are not fobbing off the GMC if they ever have to look in any of the records.
