Rude receptionist’s. Would rather send you to urgent care to avoid having to deal with you.
Discharged from hospital, advised to take my one year old for a review with a GP as a follow up after discharge. Went to Catterick village Friday morning, it was closed. So rang colburn to say we were coming at 10:32, as we didn’t realise the village was closed. Receptionist told us we had missed the cut off by a few minutes. Advised by ward staff at the hospital to call 111 to get an emergency appointment ( They themselves said they’d never known a GP Surgery like it!! ). 111 said he needed to be seen within the hour at our local GP. Called colburn, to be told the Dr said ‘go to urgent care’. The receptionist then told me I should have come in to the walk in earlier, when I explained I’d tried but been told no by herself she dismissed it, and told us to call 111 again. Passed from pillar to post.

The best doctors' in the area by far based on my own experience.

Asking questions & getting admin based things is so quick and easy using their website, but it's still easy to call in a morning to arrange things that way.
Reception staff are friendly & helpful if you go in in person and the place is always clean and tidy.

Requests for sick notes or repeat prescriptions have never taken more than a day for me by using their online system.

The doctors themselves are incredibly helpful and seem to genuinely care, which unfortunately I haven't seen as much of in other practises.

Terrible! Just terrible! Extremely rude receptionist except one which each time I call I pray I get!

The doctors I’ve seen however have been very kind and supportive, I think if they actually realised just how bad their receptionist were they would most definitely do something because it is making their surgery look bad!
I have spoken to a considerable amount of people who attend this surgery with the same issues, and have just read on here the reviews which say the same as me!!!!
Please do something about your staff!!!!!

Great doctors surgery. Always very polite and professional. Receptionists are always well mannered and helpful. After being with a different local doctors for years and never getting any answers for an ongoing problem I moved to colburn surgery and they listened and gave me answers almost instantly.

Moved here in September never once been able to get an appointment on the day for when my kids have been poorly. Absolutely ridiculous when they expect you to take a sick child to a drop in clinic and wait for hours! Receptionist always say no appointments without even checking the system rude as hell and think they are doctors!

3 staff behind reception absolutely nothing to do except talk about personal issues and use work computer to access Internet to look at properties for sale ....unbelievable...can management give them a job?

I barely ever ring the Dr but when i do im greeted with a RUDE receptionist without fail! Waited 2 hours for a call back and nothing so i rang back, same receptionist who took my original call still RUDE i had not missed the call i had been sat waiting i needed it for my child!! told to just ring out of hours whole practice is a joke im moving my kids to Harewood where i am ! should of done it a long time ago when the Dr misdiagnosed my nephew and nearly cost him his life! id recommend some people skills training for the whole team!.AVOID AVOID AVOID

Husband been off for 4 weeks in chronic back pain unable to walk or stand Despite numerous calls to surgery Gp refused to see him. And still refusing to see him. Employer paid for chiropractor who today given him a list of issues with him back to give to gp and still gp refuses to see him. Let's hope this doesn't become a medical negligence claim... still ongoing at 09.11.21
