Felt compelled to put a review on after my mam’s procedure at this hospital yesterday. Whilst it is always daunting to have such appointments, my mam said she needn’t have worried as they were nothing short of amazing! My mam is 77 and said her dignity and respect were promoted at all times and any prior anxiety or apprehension alleviated, by staff who were warm and caring in their approach and took the time to inform her of each step and what to expect along the way. My mam wanted me to put a review on to show some appreciation and recognition to the professionalism and outstanding care from the surgical staff, nurse and admin, who are all a credit to this hospital.

I had face and neck surgery performed.
From my very first appointment ,reception greeted me with such warmth and understanding.
Mr Peter Hodgkinson, consultant plastic surgeon saw me several times before surgery and after surgery.
He was extremely thorough and explained the procedure in a way which I fully understood.
He explained the procedure more than once and was more than happy to do so.
He is realistic and was very honest re the out come.
I had full confidence in Mr Hodgkinson through out every part of my treatment.
All staff delivered excellent care.
The anaethetist and all theatre staff put me at complete ease.
The after care could not be faulted.
I would highly recommend the Cobalt for any procedures you are considering having done.

Really bad with NHS patients had a horrible experience mixed up appointments, do not bother to contact you to say they can't do your surgery and happy to leave you in pain. You are better off asking to wait for an NHS hospital referral.

I attended Cobalt Hospital through NHS referral for repair of umbilical hernia a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic care and work undertaken. Very happy with the outcome. Put me at ease and explained everything thoroughly. Thank you Mr Woodcock and the whole team 👏

25/07/24 2.50pm. Horrible experience. Two booking clerks, one who was kind and thoughtful who passed me over to her colleague. I was seeking a change in a booking because Cobalt had sent me a letter of change of appointment. I am self-employed so it’s not so easy to just stop working with the patients I have. What I experienced from the beginning was a tirade of disrespect, nastiness, and ridicule (she mocked me, was sarcastic, patronising and when I pointed this out gently, I was told I had to use “correct words” whatever this means. She ended by wishing me a WONDERFUL day). I was then told that any future dates for my procedure lay outside the NHS contract of two weeks (which was not in my letter). Confused, I asked for clarification but was treat like an idiot. This morning, I had a lovely phone call from the NHS and my procedure is now rebooked: for the same day as I originally had it booked. The lesson is very clear: don’t use Ramsey: there are many more to choose from-if their bookings clerks are like this, what must the rest of the staff be like?

Went to get lumps removed from my face. The process and staff were excellent however aftercare and aftermath not explained well as still left with large red marks rather than small lumps. If going for plastic surgery, ask what the results and length of recovery will be! And definitely decide the benefits Vs aftermath will be.

My appointment was at 11.35 and I went in bang on time. The covid precautions were very through, the assistant who took you in, showed you the lockers and checked the medical questionnaire was very kind and friendly and funny too. The place was warm and very clean, calm and tidy. There was no hanging around and I went straight in for my procedure. More friendly staff in the theatre ( I didn’t catch the play as I fell asleep for some reason, but no matter…) The post procedure nurse was really lovely and kind and the biscuits good quality and properly made tea.
I had a great time, I was in and out in just shy of two hours, wish I could have stayed longer really..I couldn’t even find anything to improve about on the feedback form. The staff were a credit to the company. Thank you for looking after me.

I went for a consultation nearly two months ago with my 79 year old mother. The only correspondence we have had since is for the £200 bill for that 10 min consultation with the most cold hearted Doctor. I feel like we have been robbed. Unfortunately she is still in pain and is now relying on the NHS to provide the surgery she requires.
Why take money from people if you are not going to at least follow up after the initial meeting
It is disgusting and i would not recommend this hospital
