STAY AWAY… We will be changing doctors. We moved to the area 2 years ago. I’ve had one interaction with the surgery on a phone call consultation just because I couldn’t remember exactly my medication doses for my diabetes and blood thinning medication. The doctor was condescending and it felt like she was accusing me of trying to steel medication. I still haven’t got my meds….

My wife had just started a work from home job, doing PIP assessments. She became unwell and because she said that she couldn’t make the appointments on offer as she was working. She was told by the receptionist, obviously you are not that sick.

Last month my wife was ill, flu like symptoms but added to it her skin on her back and face felt like it was on fire and terribly itchy. On a phone consultation was told by the doctor this doesn’t normally happen will flu… never mind the fact it’s happening. We had to take photos and upload them via a link that was sent to us. That was about two weeks ago. We still haven’t heard anything.

Maybe we are just unlucky, and have caught everybody on a bad day. I’m not sure if anyone else feels like this. When I’ve called I found there is one lady that is not very helpful. That is all I can say.

Good luck!!

I have always found the practice staff from Doctors to reception to be helpful and patient. Always professional. A really good medical team.

Used to be wonderful. Then the regular GPs left and patients weren't informed (only discovered when trying to book appt. with usual GP). When I asked whether anyone was taking on the existing caseloads of those Drs, or anything that was in progress being handled by those Drs, was told by receptionist no.

So patients were left without continuity of care and practice failed to inform patients of this change. Very badly done.

Replacement locums were brusque, patronising and dismissive, unable to cope with long term health matters. 2 locums failed to make a diagnosis of a common condition, and dismissed me without any treatment, because they couldn't be bothered to ask any proper investigative questions. Complete failure in duty of care.

The young receptionist is really rude and insensitive!! My husband has been receiving some really good, but sensitive treatment from the medical Dr. (name confidential) difficult for him to start with a new strange Dr now! Because we moved a 1 mile further down the road she rudely unregistered my whole family from the surgery. Don't work with people and especially at a medical center if you do not have compassion or can use some discretion!

I've given this surgery two stars because we like the doctor. The receptionists, however, are a different matter. Oh my goodness, we're all struggling here in the pandemic and there are many people losing their jobs. The receptionists on the phone and face to face at this doctors surgery (majority of them) are rude and insensitive.

You should never be on reception, if you can't even greet a patient with a smile. Especially at the doctors!! They have no idea what people are going in for, but even so, please hire receptionists who are pleasant and kind!!!!

Been at this surgery for years, very happy with Dr Steinbrecher and Dr James in particular. Never feel I’m wasting their time, always treated with respect and empathy. Staff are generally friendly and helpful. I like being able to recycle old inhalers and ink cartridges while I’m there too. Disabled access is available but not obvious so do ask if you’ll need it. Toilet is too small for disabled or baby changing.

Let me start with the positives... the doctors are lovely and always have been. Often going above and beyond for you.....but.... the receptionists....I've never left a bad review in my life anywhere, becuase I understand everyone has off days and we all make mistakes etc etc... but a few of the receptionists here are always so rude and unhelpful it would be laughable if they didn't work in a medical profession!

Amazing GP surgery - especially Dr James and Dr Steinbrecher and both practice nurses. Always same day appointments available and because they dispense you can pick up your medicine there and then. Absolutely fantastic service, much better than any previous GP surgery.
