Had a medication review in March 24, shortly after that i was coughing up blood one morning, also bad heartburn ~ it passed and i thought i was getting a phone call soon from the doctor about my medication and blood test etc ~ so i thought i would wait. A few months pass and my heartburn was getting worse, gaviscon was not working anymore ~ so i tryed to ring doctors up couple of times but could not get through.
In the end i went down the doctors, told receptionist what happen, and ask to see a doctor, she reply you can't book appoinments here you have to ring up in the morning on the day...i said okay can you book me a medication review with a doctor because not had one, she gave me a date on September, 18th which was far in the future but accepted.
Never got a call on September the 18th ~ so rung up late afteroon got through, said my medication review has been canceled. So i explain my situation to another secratary, and she said the other secratary should not of said that, and you can book appointment to see doctor, gave me appointment in October, and also the cancelled medcation review also in October.
At this point ive cough up nomore blood , but my heartburn is very bad, ive had to use my girlfriends Lansoprazole medication to help with the heartburn.
Its been 6 1/2 months since my original medication review, and still not seen any doctors.
i think this is unacceptable and would avoid this place if you can...

The actual doctor is amazing
Richard Dunn, who replaced my doctor after she left, name escapes me but she was amazing too. The other doctors are equally as good when I see them instead
The negative is the lack of availability. Which I assume is nhs wide
However the reception team, some are lovely and funny, there is one incredibly rude lady who likes to try and diagnose you and tell you your imagining things. Always accuses you of things and is generally a rude and condescending human. I even had a text from doc asking me to book medication review and the receptionist told me… we have no slots for the next four weeks, call back next month…. Fine no appointments but book in advance then rather than constantly telling us to call back, especially when you have to wait 40 minutes to get through to someone.
We get it, you are strained and probably get a load of rude patients but there is no need for this one member of reception team to act like they know more than the doctor. When you have done 7 years of medical training I will believe you. Until then let the doctor do the diagnosing, and perhaps try and smile a bit.

Receptionists are fine most of the time but the doctors not so much. I went for an appointment for a skin condition that I have, the doctor had to google search the condition and wasn't 100% sure it was what it was. Had to cancel appointment once because they took over an hour and could've been even more if I didn't walk out. I called them over the phone one time to book an appointment for my mother. The lady said no appointments available unless it's urgent, had to come in the next day and the same lady told me the same thing until another woman came and told her that she's wrong and non urgent appointments are available. I also waited in a que because other people in front of me needed help and it took them too long with every person. It was very hot and everyone was frustrated at how long it took. Don't recommend. I am changing GP'S.

The rude reception staff ignore disabled people and treat them like something on their shoe . The GP is never the same twice and the inconsistency shown with letters from hospitals are NEVER received and it’s never their fault . The right to choose a hospital is lost to them and they always force you to attend medway hospital . The lack of care can be seen in red suite when they expected patients to wait on the fire escape stairs whilst they had there 2 hour lunch .

Then they say oh u need to call in the morning to book a appointment... how ra h... u can do this if no one picking up the phone... then when u come for your appointment they are all the time late for more then 40 min and when is my turn staying less then 5 min and saying oh sorry your appointment is finished u need to book new one 😀 It's a joke not a surgery . I thing to get true the queen it's more possible then tru this surgery . Tell u it's this is normal ?

I see the poor reviews and I understand. The GP personal service we grew up with is no more, and although sometimes it's hard to see, it can be better despite the huge numbers of patients they now have to see and they have a million more tasks as many things/tests don't have to wait for a consultant and it all falls on our GPS. I'm particularly grateful - over at least the last 5 years for those that answer the phone a lovely bunch of very professional people that want to help within the parameters that they CAN act.

Well I belong to the Gillingham surgery but rang Chatham by mistake at 8am. They got my notes up and reviewed what I needed. Then got into Gillingham’s booking system and gave me a booking for a doctor to ring me that day. So thanks and I gave it 5 stars.

Couldn’t run a bath. Second time have had an appointment in so many weeks and had an excessive wait (over an hour), without any information as to why running late or when I will be seen.
Appreciate appointments run over but seriously this is taking the Micky, and it’s clear they have to many patients for staff, but then structure appointments properly, receptionists should maybe come out of their little cupboard and explain to patients estimated time for waiting rather then having continuous chats. Patient care seems to be the last thing on their mind. A demonstration of why and how the NHS is failing, time management and customer care at the start is the last thing isn’t being managed right.
