Because parking is so limited at CDH it's necessary to attend for appointments well in advance. While waiting where do patients/visitors get hot food? A Costa coffee shop selling sandwiches, & coffee when their machine isn't broken, isn't good enough, if I wanted to go on a picnic I'd choose somewhere better than a hospital! Parking charges rake in a small fortune for hospitals, use some of that to provide proper facilities for visitors.

My partner had his 4-week check-up today. He had hip replacement surgery 4 weeks ago. There was a surgeon and a physiotherapist there. After the surgery, he was given a small booklet with 3 types of chair exercises. This is very little. The physiotherapist showed him how to use the stairs after the surgery. Today, the physiotherapist only showed him one exercise. He did not receive any physiotherapy help. In such cases, patients usually receive booklets for physiotherapy exercises. In which they show him the exercises. They should have done more difficult exercises. I am very disappointed that I have to look for suitable exercises on the internet again. However, the doctor should decide what exercises the patient should do after hip replacement surgery involving muscle cutting. The physiotherapist said that more difficult exercises should be done. But he did not show him what the more difficult exercises should be. I am very disappointed.

Have visited Chorley Hospital both as a patient and as a visitor recently. I found their services really good and the volunteers are very helpful in getting you to your destination. Car parking is busy, as with all hospitals, but better than most with 30 minutes free parking which is sufficient to allow dropping off and picking up.

Attended Chorley Eye Clinic for one of my service users to have his retina reattached . The staff were beyond wonderful. They made him feel very special. Explaining everything they were doing. I cannot express my thanks to them especially Carolyn who went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable. Amazing from start to finish. A great big thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Avoid A&E!!!
Go to a hospital who care for their patients!!
I attended A&E in October due to thinking I had torn my bicep. No scan was offered. No MRI was offered. No pain relief offered. No follow ups offered. I was just sent on my way and discharged.
I attended another hospital who confirmed following my MRI in this hospital, my peck was fully detached and required immediate major surgery.
Thanks for nothing staff at Chorley A&E. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Hi guys, I'm 80 years old and just spent 13 days in hospital at Chorley, one day in that 13 I did not think I would have walked out, but I did. The last time I was in hospital I was 15 years old so I did not know what to expect. I was well looked after most of the time, but I'm not for complaining, it was like the league of nations, staff from all over the world they were there for one reason, to help you recover and the best they could for you.
THANK YOU FROM A GRATEFUL VETERAN.

Had a scan booked at 2:40pm and arrived with 15 minutes to park. There was no parking, it was a joke. I ended up missing my appointment circling everywhere trying to park and ended up in tears stressed because nobody would answer the phone. I’ve now been sent back to my GP because that’s “policy” to send back after 1 failed appointment. Perhaps using some common sense and advising people who don’t live in the area that parking is impossible so they can plan something else would be useful. Wasted half a day off work and potentially have a health issue I’ll have to wait longer to identify. Thanks!

I came here for surgery to remove a bunion that has plagued my life for years. I have avoided this procedure and any kind of Doctors appointments etc for years because I have severe anxiety and multiple mental health issues and previously bad experiences in hospital.
Every single member of staff we spoke to was genuinely kind, considerate, and did everything in their power to ensure I felt safe and comfortable. I can't emphasize enough how amazing they all were. From Pauline who explained everything so thoroughly and was so kind, to every single member of staff we came across. Before arriving I had not slept for 2 days had a meltdown in the car park but as soon as I came inside and spoke to everyone I was more calm than I ever thought possible, to the point I fell asleep in the hospital bed.
Words can't explain how much we appreciate you all, It's obvious you all put all of yourselves into everything you do, I don't know how you do it, you all seemed like angels.
I never knew people could be so calming, and everyone genuinely cared.

The security and feeling of calm you all gave me I can only compare to being young and my Ma comforting me when I was sick.

Thank you for looking after me.
You all deserve the world.
And a pay rise 🙂
I'm really sorry I couldn't remember everyone's names, I know there's no excuse as you all wear name badges, but thank you so much everyone 🙂

Thank you ? Jasmine (The blue haired anxious one)
