I highly recommend Dr Zhu’s acupuncture treatments and can’t thank him enough for his help with my vertigo. After one year of trying many therapies and medicines, acupuncture at Chinese Medical Therapy, Chelmsford, is the only thing that has made a significant and noticeable difference. Dr. Zhu is by far the best doctor I’ve came across in Chelmsford. I’ve been visiting him occasionally when problems arise and he had always helped me and found the right solution to my problem. I am myself very pro alternative and Chinese medicine as western medicine got its faults which these days is showing me quite opposite when you trying to help your body to work. I don’t have more than only words of praise for Dr. Zhu. Highly recommend to anyone whom is suffering from any type of illness. 🙏

This clinic is nothing fancy, don't let that put you off!
I am in training and have been suffering with sciatica.
I had been suffering for about 12 weeks and although there was improvement it still was very restricting and painful.
I went to see Dr Zhu. He knew exactly where the problem was. His recommendation was for modern fsn acupuncture.
This is a safer form of acupuncture and involves only one or two needles.
My first treatment involved 2 needles.
The instant relaxation of the muscles were very obvious. On returning there was over 80% improvement.
I have been in today for my second session, this time just one needle.
Dr Zhu is very professional, he makes you feel very relaxed.
I have again instantly felt further improvement.
I have one more session to go in the treatment plan, the results have been amazing!

I am so happy to write this review as he truly is worth a visit if you are suffering, don't put it off, you won't regret walking through that door !

This small Chinese medical centre was amazing. My partner had issues with hypertonic pelvic floor, which had been an issue for weeks. This was causing great distress and anxiety for her. The first visit had removed the pain from the coccyx and brought great relief for her. We have now had four sessions and the difference is amazing. We can’t thank Dr zhu enough. Highly recommend!

I first met with Shengbing just after experiencing an early miscarriage. He was kind and listened to me, and took a detailed medical history as well as asking me questions about my cycle and energy levels. He also checked my tongue and my pulse. Based on what I shared and what he observed, he recommended a 12 week course of weekly acupuncture and twice-daily Chinese herbs. The herbs were specifically prescribed to treat my endometriosis and slightly long menstrual cycles (4.5 to 5 weeks).

The first month of treatment saw increased energy and a shorter cycle (30 days). I also experienced what is termed in English, quite dramatically, a 'healing crisis'. This is when symptoms can worsen after starting treatment. In my case it resulted in extreme cold symptoms. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, this can mean that the root cause of issues has been identified and is being addressed. In other words, that treatment is working.

I found the acupuncture itself very relaxing, and Shengbing makes sure the room is warm enough and plays really lovely, relaxing, Chinese classical music (sometimes it isn't on but you can ask and he'll put it on!). The herbal remedies were very strong! They taste was bitter and intense - my understanding is that this strong taste is actually an important aspect of moving the Chi, and so I didn't try to sweeten it with honey or sugar - as I have seen suggested by some people. The effects of the herbs were so apparent and positive that I soon found my motivation for taking them far outweighed the unpleasant taste. Shengbing changed the combination of herbs he prescribed based on the stage of my cycle, so as to optimise chances of conception and support any new pregancies. Some herbs that treat endometriosis, for example, can cause miscarriage, so I wouldn't take those from a few days after ovulation. I felt very cared for and comforted by the level of specificity and precision involved.

In month two of treatment, I found out I was pregnant. My partner and I have been trying to conceive for 4 years, and my miscarriage was after our first attempt at IVF. To find out we had conceived spontaneously after so many years of trying, the stress and intensity of IVF, and the heartbreak of miscarriage, was one of the most incredible moments of my life. My partner and I had both been taking supplements, including co-enzyme q10, and I do believe that may have helped. However, I know that Shengbing's treatment, particularly the herbs, got my body into the place it needed to be to conceive. And I will be eternally grateful.

I continued to see Shengbing for a few weeks after my pregnancy was confirmed, and only stopped when my nausea prevented me from being able to take the herbs, and I found the journey to Chelmsford (an hour each way from where I am) too much to cope with while managing 1st trimester symptoms, particularly in this very cold and wet winter we've been having.

Thank you so much for the expert care and the compassionate and kind approach. It is not an exaggeration to say that you have changed my life, and in the most wonderful way.

Highly recommended 👌! After 6 months of multiple scans including a CT scan my partner being constantly in pain we decided to use acupuncture with Dr Zhu as a last resort. We had two sessions in Chelmsford with other therapist but no improvements at all .

I highly recommend Dr Zhu. I went in with arm and shoulder pain. I would struggle to even put on a coat on without pain and being extra cautious.
I went to the NHS but 6 months later I was none the better, in fact was getting worse!
I decided to try acupuncture and from the first session I felt a massive improvement!
If you have any sort of physical problem pay Dr Zhu a visit even if you aren't sure if it's for you. Dr Zhu is extremely knowledgeable and professional if he can't help he will say so!

I am looking forward to being able to dress myself with no pain, to not be constantly uncomfortable due to the pain and also back to exercising!
I am truly grateful to Dr Zhu! My mum has a chronic illness which affects her back and ability to walk and balance, she gets acupuncture done once a week with Dr Zhu and she explains how much better her mobility is after.
