We had a lovely few days staying at Cheddar Woods with our 4 year old and friends with 15, 14 & 8 year old. The lodges were very clean and had everything you need including a washer/dryer (though it wasn’t the easiest to use!) |A couple of minor issues with the lodge but nothing that would downgrade this review. It would have been nice to have had a few more luxuries and would be happy to pay extra for them as a choice. |The bar and restaurant were great. Very good food and better than we expected. The pool party was great fun but felt that half an hour was too short. The other activities felt a bit basic and but then again they were cheap. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would come again.

I will start with the positives. When we arrived at our lodge, visually it seemed appealing and looked very nice. The hot tub was very nice and we used it everyday. Kitchen was good and very spacious. Overall a very nice place.||My main concerns and bad feedback would be, when we started to use items such as the Tv ours was damaged presumably by the last people who were here and had a crack in it so we couldn’t really use it. As our holiday progressed through out the days we were here we found more issues, the flush in the smaller toilet did not flush properly. The door handle to the second bedroom came completely off. I reported this to the reception and they said they would send someone out, however they did not we waited hours yet the issues were not sorted. The fire in our living room was faulty and was flickering constantly. The bulb in our bedroom blew (which can’t really be helped) however all of these issues could have been avoided had the lodge been checked over properly before handing it over to us. All in all I found the stay inadequate and would unlikely return due to all of the issues we had that did not get resolved. I will likely ask for a partial refund.

Second year to visit Cheddar Woods Resort and Spa. Thoroughly enjoyed our mid week break. The accommodation was great and the hot tub was always kept clean with daily cleaning/check by the resort and was a welcome treat every evening after our stroll into Cheddar Gorge.|Lovely welcome toy for our dog upon arrival and a few necessities like tea/coffee/milk/sugar.|We will hopefully be back again in the near future

Great place to stay to tour th surrounding areas. Good quality and clean accommodation with very good facilities. The staff are very friendly and the bar area was excellent and cosy. Swimming pool, spa, children’s play area, mini bowling, pool tables etc. we didn’t eat in the restaurant. There is also a small shop.

Great location only a short drive from Cheddar Gorge. Cabin was nice and clean if a bit a basic. Central facilities need a refurb (restaurant / bar etc). Soft play are is just a small room with some padded squares, def not a soft play! Gym is tiny and only good for a short work out.

The staff were great though, really welcoming and always seemed happy and keen to help.

For the money it’s good value but don’t expect it to be amazing!

Absolute brilliant place to relax. Really clean lodge with everything you need.
Great area to use as a base.
There are activities on site, some with additional cost.
As for all the staff, everyone goes out of their way to give you the best experience.
Especially the team in reception.
Restaurant does lovely meals and everything looked freshly made. Pizzas were top notch and the kids loved them.
Would recommend this place to anyone that's needs to relax and go about at your own pace.

We had such a lovely time last year we decided to book again for this year! Very disappointed with our accommodation. Last years lodge was pristine so felt quite luxurious, this year's was grubby. There were marks all over the walls, paint falling off the skirting boards, damp on the bathroom ceiling, soap scum around the shower, stains on the furniture, the oven was filthy and the outside furniture green with algae and stained. The food in the club house was ok ( not as good as last year) and they did not have everything on the menu so when ordering we would be told they had "ran out" early in the evening. I won't be re-booking for next year as the prices are high and do not reflect the standards I would expect.
