We were visiting family in Blandford during November 2024 and decided to try the Charlton Inn for an evening meal. The choice of food was extremely good they also had a number of vegan options for the wife. The service, the atmosphere, the staff and the food was excellent. We was also allowed to stop over in their carpark in our motorhome, which made the evening even better. Would highly recommend it. In fact we are hoping to return in December.

While the meals were very good what put us off was the couple who came in with their dog. They then proceeded to seat the dog at the table on one of the chairs, the dog then proceeded to start licking the table. It was licking the whole time we were there which was off putting to say the least. Dogs should not be allowed in a food serving area, I know a lot of pubs now allow this but PLEASE not sit them at the table for Gods sake, other people have to sit there. We have never had a problem in the past but will now consider whether we go there again and will not reccomend it.

We attended the Charlton inn for a last minute Sunday lunch.
It was incredible large portions and food was delicious, meat was so tender.
staff are very helpful, lovely cosy atmosphere.
Booking is therefore advised.

Stayed here for 2 nights with family, had 4 rooms. Had an evening meal in the pub which was beautiful, plentiful and tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooms offer everything you need but they definitely need a bit of TLC.

We love this pub. We have had family meals here, and Christmas functions here. Every time the food has been lovely and the staff have always been friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. We havent stayed in the rooms as we are locals.

Stopped in a bit early for the food service but were made to feel welcome by the attentive staff. The bar maid took our order before the food service started to ensure the food arrive as fast as possible. Fantastic. Food arrived super fast and what a delight. Really tasty and the portions were spot on. The family then wanted some pudding and the waffles and the Sundays were great. Will be back again soon no doubt.

This is a fantastic place to stay. I feel like I've had a really good deal. The price was very reasonable and the rooms are a good size and clean. The showers are really nice, with decent water pressure and hot. The rooms are in a separate building from the pub so there's no noise disturbance. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the food is good. The only thing that I could criticise is the shower cubicle could have been bigger. The ensuite room is plenty big enough to have fitted a larger cubicle, but the one that is there is quite adequate. It's a minor item and I still feel that it was great value for money.

A lovely little pub with some great cask beers and incredibly friendly and helpful staff. I stayed in one of their rooms which was perfectly acceptable and good value for money. Great selection of traditional pub grub as well.
