I can't fault this practice. The online ask your GP is a great service and if you have a problem your able to see a doctor the same day. The doctors are caring and lovely. Receptionist are very nice to talk with and help you out, they are professional and you feel valued. If your wanting a great surgery in this area I would recommend this practice 100%

Nightmare. Communication issues - referrals not made, call-backs don't come, results not sent out. Won't give meds taken periodically for decades without unnecessary 'treatment review' consisting of blunt instrument questionnaire. Individual docs/nurses are v good, but procedures so bad I've just left for another practice.

I've been using this practice for the last 5 years or so, and I'm really happy with the service and level of care. I've seen some comments about the online - Ask My GP - service, and whilst the opening times are quite short, I find this service really helpful. Saves constant ringing and trying to get through on an engaged line and queries are responded to by midday, usually with an appointment the same day. It's obviously a busy practice but the receptionists are polite and try their best to resolve your queries. Keep up the good work - Steven!

Tried calling this morning as my daughter has what seems to be like a chest infection and we’ve been up all night with her being sick from coughing that much. We’ve done tests and she’s not got covid. I called the surgery as soon as the lines opened at 8am and got a really unpleasant and rude receptionist call Hayley. She spoke to me like I’m an illiterate. So humiliating… Telling me if it’s an emergency then I should go to A&E or a Walk-in Centre. That their emergency service is for severe conditions like stroke victims. When I tried to challenge this, even though she was being really rude to me, she said I was shouting at her and hung up the phone. First of all, I highly doubt a person suffering from stroke will go to the gp surgery. I think that will surely be a hospital A&E visit. I’m not one to call in always anyway. I usually go on ask my gp, but I was really worried about my child, that’s why I called the surgery. Most of the other moms I spoke to, have explained experiencing similar rude behaviour from reception and it puts them off calling the surgery. That’s not right though. I know doctors are busy and all, but please train your staff to know how to show empathy and how to have polite telephone manners. After all the taxes we pay is the reason why they have a job in the first place.
I wouldn’t have given 1 star as the doctors I’ve experienced there over the years are very good and patient. However it’s really difficult to get to them with such rude receptionist.

As a new patient I was really well welcomed. I saw Dr Alvi who listened, sorted out the problem and was very efficient and kind. The secretarial staff was very efficient in sorting out a referral and the MyGP system worked well for me. I am really pleased with the support and efficiency of this practice. Thank you

Absolutely disgraceful.

For a start I have no idea what compels the receptionists to think they are even remotely qualified to make a diagnoses over the phone, or for that matter in general? Forgive me if I’m wrong but I don’t believe they cover medicine at
“sit behind a desk” university.

As for the doctors and nurses. Ive genuinely had better medical advice from an episode of greys anatomy. The lack of care and interest in a patients concerns is abysmal.

Please if you value your health and your time, find a real surgery.

I have always received excellent service from everyone including office staff, nurses and GP s. The Ask my GP service is efficient and quick. Sometimes it is not necessary to see a doctor but a phone call giving advice and reassurance is much appreciated. I would especially like to thank the nurse practitioners for being both
friendly and professional. Sadly I often hear friends moan that they are unable to get appointments at their doctors. That has never been the case at Chapelthorpe for me.

I have been with this practice for 16 years since moving to the area and I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience. The reception staff are also very helpful and go out of their way to revolve any issues. The doctors are very through and will always respond to messages and see you mostly the same day. The ask my GP works well and saves time calling and waiting in a queue. I have nothing but paise for the surgery as a whole.
