Absolute joke of a surgery, always a problem with appointments, either no doctor at practice, ridiculous times or wait times regarding certain issues for months!
In January, I visited a GP in regards to my spine problem, whom the doctor himself said he would refer me to get a CT scan, when I upload a photo of my previous scan, so he can see it on file. I did what he asked me for the same day. Weeks went by and I had no appointment, so I rang up the surgery. I was told to send the photo again, so I did. Eventually, I would ring up every week or so to check up on it. In April I was finally able to get it all attached to my file when I went to the practice myself to speak to the receptionist about it. Still haven’t seen any response in regards to my back from the doctor.

They schedule mental health practitioners who cannot prescribe medication when you ask for a doctor appointment in regards to your medication. Absolute waste of time, since I had to take a day off work for this appointment which led to me being told I have another appointment on the phone the following day… which didn’t happen the first time. Nobody takes into consideration that I do not have the whole morning to wait for a phone call, nor do I have unlimited amount of days of holidays to take because they are incompetent in scheduling appointments that actually lead to giving help to those who need it. When I state that I do not have signal at work, it works both ways, I cannot take phone calls as well as make them. Should’ve scheduled me with a doctor who prescribes medication in the first place, especially when it’s regarding someone’s mental health!

Another one, when I came in to get help with my knee. Clearly told the receptionist what my problem is with the knee since it’s been ongoing since I was a kid, I was given next day appointment with a paramedic who told me he cannot help me with the issue I have….

Stay away from this place! Nightmare is an understatement!

This surgery needs independently reviewing. I have filed my complaints with the right authorities yesterday. The doctor didn’t bother reading my notes and accused me things which I proved he was wrong to do so. He Cancelled medication without notifying me (the patient) and without consulting my specialist. The doctor then said I wasn’t taking my medication, yet a letter signed and dated by this doctor to say he had read it proved the medication was in my blood stream. Because I have all this proof of clinical negligence they have today removed me from the surgery knowing I’m diagnosed as one of the worst ten cases in the UK for heart disease and dangerous hypertension. I look forward to the outcome of my case being investigated. I cannot wait for this arrogant and incompetent GP to be removed, bearing in mind he had to resign from his previous job due to a vote of no confidence.

Having read poor reviews about this surgery, I was very apprehensive when I needed an appointment, so much so that I avoided trying for several weeks. I’m a long term patient and have not had to see a GP face to face since before covid.

I submitted a request via their anima App, which is quite a lengthy process, but the level of detail does allow staff to triage requests quickly. Much to my relief I was offered a same day face to face appointment with their ANP Carl. The Reception staff were welcoming and Carl was friendly, professional and reassuring. I had to return the following day for blood tests, which were back a day later. I received a text offering advice and a follow up appointment for later that week. Incidentally having viewed my medical record on the App, it was clear that the staff are thorough and work late.

My personal experience has given me confidence with my follow up treatment.

This place is an absolute joke of a surgery. They never have a GP on site and will farm you off to extended hours or the walk in emergency care at the hospital. Do yourselves a favor and leave this surgery. The receptionists are the least caring we have ever come across more interested in their phone and holidays than dealing with patients. If I could give a negative star rating this would still be more than they deserve.

I'd been directed to Chapelford from my own GP who had no more appointments left. Not knowing what to expect I went along with little hope. I was seen by a delightful paramedic. She was both friendly and professional. I was examined and questioned thoroughly about my condition without rush. I felt utterly listened to and was treated with respect and kindness. I was given good signposting advise and offered appropriate medication via their prescribing service. I couldn't fault this practise. The reception was bright, open, and clean. The welcome I recieved was warm and sincere. I can't help but recommend this practise and am at a loss as to its low star rating? 5 stars from me! And I was a very dubious attendee!

This surgery needs immediate review and intervention from the medical board for the dangerously poor levels of health care provided. There are no phone call appointments, the anime booking system does not work, the reception staff are potentially the most unprofessional and incompetent team I have ever come across. Calls from dr’s for missed appointments whilst I have been sat waiting to be called through. Patients sent to other practices due to lack of dr’s and only given out of hours appointments from external practitioners. This doesn’t even begin to touch on the in inconsistency of the doctors who barely seem to last at the practice. We are leaving effective immediately with such poor standards I really do worry for anyone they call a patient of the practice.
What a poor representation of the NHS.

Text on Thursday saying I have a telephone appointment on the 28th with no time stated. Get a call late morning saying the GP has gone home so it will be tomorrow (29th at 2:30pm). Get a text saying 28/06 at 2:30pm but didn’t worry too much. No call today at 2:30pm, on hold for one and a half hours before it cut off. Leave work early only to see the attached sign outside - no message to say that the appointment has been cancelled or rearranged. Even the pharmacy confirmed they hadn’t been told! Looking online, my results were ready on the 22nd and still no call to confirm the result! Beyond words.

Avoid this surgery at all costs, never before I had so many issues at a GP like in this one. Running out of meds and had to wait weeks for a prescription.
GP is never available, instead to get phone consultations with a nurse.
Admin paperwork like sick notes and letters are a constant fight tonget them on time or get them at all.
When challenged about the prescription the response was ' there are other surgeries available and you can always change'. As bad as it is to be ill , the frustration of dealing with this surgery can send you over the edge mentally speaking.
