Absolutely appalling management. Owners of the Cedars are just in it for the money no care for the residents! Staff not paid properly. Neither staff or residents treated with respect. Not enough carers to look after residents. Residents fed Tesco value frozen foods. Money paid by residents goes straight into owners pockets. Be aware! This is not a CARE home! Would never put anyone here! It's a hell hole.

My mum had to be admitted to Cedars place care home due to declining health, both of which she dreaded happening. She spent just over two years there where the care she received was nothing short of excellent. We would like to thank Hazel, Michelle, Diane, and the amazing care team for their unwavering dedication, friendliness, professionalism, communication skills & sheer hard work. Mums last years were made comfortable, and her needs, both physical and emotional, were met to the highest of standards. Which gave us reassurance and peace of mind, which was very much appreciated. So a big thanks from us.

My mother has just moved in to the home, she was extremely unhappy and isolated before. She is changing day by day to a much happier self. The staff are fantastic, mum loves the food, she said "You get a proper portion here and it's good food". The food is what elderly people would have known in their younger days, wholesome, a good basic diet, nothing too fancy that they don't understand. As mum got out of bed to speak to me on the phone, the pressure pad on the floor was activated and a member of care staff was with her in 20 seconds. The standard of genuinely compassionate care from the staff is wonderful. I have fretted for some years about my mother's safety but I now rest easy knowing she is getting the care I would want her to have and she is safe, secure, and well looked after.
If I had to mention a negative, its only that I can't have lunch with her and I have to pay £1:50 for a coffee when I visit her. Although I feel the cost of care is very fair compared to other homes- a little more for the relatives would be nice in a cup of tea and a biscuit. Mum was a manager of 2 care homes, and I have managed care homes including 120 bedded, so we know what good care is. Cedars Place is outstanding (as denoted by the CQC report). I can't thank the staff enough for their caring, professional attitude. I can see a bad review on here from 5 years ago, please disregard it, the management have changed and there is a totally new outlook on elderly care from what it used to be.

My Mum was in hospital and is here for convalescence. From before day one, I was impressed. Judith called me as soon as she knew that my Mum was going there because she wanted to make sure my Mum's every needs were met. She asked what she liked to eat and all about my Mum's life,which was so nice. Hazel came over to pick my Mum's stuff up and also was asking about Mum, especially reiterating about my Mums little dog. My husband Paul and myself visited today, with both dogs and as Simone, a lovely carer, who treated my Mum like her own, wheeled my Mum out into the beautiful garden, I could see she would be happy there. Absolutely every person I met were happy and pleased to help. The rooms were spotless, as was the kitchen, toilets and communal areas. Thank you all for a superb visit. You have put my mind at ease and can't wait to see you all again. Lots of love, you wonderful caring people XOXO

My parents have both been in The Cedars for nearly a year now. The staff are fantastic in all departments, nothing is ever too much trouble. My dad has dementia and is treated with the care and support he needs even when his behaviour isn't at its best. My mum will tell you herself she is happy and enjoys the outings and activities offered.

My Mother has been a resident at The Cedars for nearly 3 years which just about says it all! I did want her to move out as the home was going down but since the takeover i have seen great changes, there are more stimulating activities, the place is very clean and the care is outstanding and she could not be in better hands.

Family member been here a while now. Never been taken on any day trips. No one gets out, not even for a walk in the garden. The 5star reviews are clearly from the new management. We visit regular but no new activities for residents to be occupying themselves with. Bring back the Patels when they were in charge we could speak to management now all we get is excuses about the poor care they are receiving and paying top price for. Trying to currently move my family member from this sad place as they have definitely gone down hill since new management took over.

Wonderful food at THE CEDARS. Food hygiene at level 5. Had a great day last Wednesday enjoying food from around the world celebrating International Food Day. Residents and staff enjoyed small portions of tasters throughout the day..
