My father was admitted to Cedar House in February after being discharged from the hospital for palaitive care.
His room was sufficient for his needs. His main nurse, Marie, and the nursing staff were brilliant and couldn't thank them enough. BUT the Manager not once introduced herself even after my father recently passed, which I find disgraceful.
The building itself is in need of updating and decorating.

I am sharing this review to help prevent the same situation that we went through from happening to other families. My father stayed here for respite care for one week. In this time, the care home unregistered my 90 year old father with his doctor that he had been with for many years. When my father needed medication, the surgery that he was newly registered with by the care home refused to see him as he was 'outside the catchment area' even though I offered to drive him there and take him home. His old practise were insisting on seeing ID and filling in forms even though he was registered there for years. My father's advanced vascular dementia makes it very difficult to fill in forms even with support. I emailed the care home and said that other care homes do not do this - which I know to be true as my father has stayed at other care homes for respite and they have not unregistered him with his doctor. The response was that they did not know what other care homes did. I suggested to perhaps liaise with other care homes locally to see how they get around this situation. The response was: OK I hope you get it sorted. This shows me that they do not care at all about our very negative experience and they will not be changing this protocol so please be aware if you have an elderly relative staying here for respite. They will be unregistered with their doctor and may not be able to see the new doctor once they return home. Just appalling treatment in my opinion.

Poorly lead management. Many safeguardings in the home. Staff don't care enough. Recent restbite very worrying. I would never have my family stay here again!
