Doctor Shawcross and Becky are a credit to the surgery. Absolutely amazing help from them wherever needed. Dr Shawcross is always fully booked now as everyone seems to have realised she is the best for miles.

However, new staff at reception and some of the new Doctors are bringing the surgery down. Very rude, arrogant and distrusting. Every time I have phoned up recently, been met with a receptionist staff who is almost nasty. No compassion, no kindness. She just sounds angry. Have phoned up a few times now and received her and she makes me scared to phone up! As I know I'll just be met with her criticism.

Moved to area just over 3 years ago. Joined this surgery and we have always been very happy with the way we have been treated etc. Pleasant building and waiting room excellent caring, helpful and friendly staff.

What happened to being able to go to you're doctor's and there being compassion and to be able to feel safe and comfortable. But instead meet with aggression and anger and pushed out the door and told you've got to get on with it and made to feel your a piece of dirt on there shoe and should just give up and it's down to family members and just refused treatment because you don't feel it correct diagnosis and asked to be referred because your really struggling and now it's so awkward you don't feel like going back and just painted as if it's you that's the problem. I mean there is a poster on the wall just as you walk in on the right it works both ways.!! My experience this is a appalling doctor's with no compassion or willingness to help treat problems to help you improve your health your just made to feel your a burden and have no right to be there

1 star because I can’t give 0.
Absolutely shocking practice. Son mis diagnosed and mistreated even though I explained it was not the correct diagnosis and was basically just told I was refusing to treat my son if I didn’t try it, surprise surprise treated for no reason the diagnosis was wrong. Shown picture to pharmacist who straight away said misdiagnosed and advised will need referral. 3 referrals needed in the past 12 months, 3 referrals forgot to put over or messed up. Ask for complaints procedure and apparently they don’t have an email for this. it is 2024 I think this is ridiculous and just a tactic to try stop people logging formal complains, this will not work a formal complaint will be following this and reporting to CQC also as inadequate. just want to warn people how shocking this surgery is at the moment and not to bother with them.
Not the first Misdiagnosis either plenty happened whilst at this surgery.

Moved to Torrington 6 months ago and signed up with Castle Gardens.
Unfortunately my health took a real turn for the worst but am I glad I joined this surgery.
The service has been excellent at every level of contact from reception to the caring doctors.
Set in nice grounds with some parking & a dispensary for non local patient's, nice seating area which helps as well.

Terrible service from the receptionist and doctors combined. Only anllowed to discuss one issue at a time means I am going downhill rapidly and then also having to fight for medication when needed. No longer allowed to call to check if medication is ready means a very painful 12 mile round trip to be told they’ve halved your prescription without notice and you have to make the journey more often at that! Fed up with fighting for my right to medical help I am moving practice!!

The staff at the clinic are always patient and helpful in spite of the heavy workload and have always tried to accommodate me and always seem to have enough time . This is the reception staff, nurses and doctors - all excellent!
