I joined caremark back in 2018 when my children had all started full time school. I had never considered health and social care as a career, and had no experience of the role. I initially wanted to use this as a stepping stone to go into social services. Full training was given and I felt confident to go out and support people at home. I started work, and very quickly fell in love with the job. After a few years, a senior position became available, which I applied for. Again, having no prior experience, I was supported by the team to reach the best of my potential. My role has progressed throughout the last 8 years, I am now the care coordinator and trainer. I love my job, no two days are the same. I have full support from my manager and managing director, they are currently supporting me through my NVQ3, and I know that if I have any worries or concerns, I have someone to turn to that will help me through and ensure that I am reaching my full potential. I get on really well with all my colleagues, and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting new customers, and knowing that together we are making a difference in people's lives. Caremark Broxtowe and Erewash is a fantastic company to work for, and I am looking forward to many more years with the team.
