My husband has been at Cannock Specialist Care Centre since August 2024, but he was also there from February till June and was moved to another home which was totally unsuitable. We as a family asked for him to be moved back as he was happy well look after and was very settle at Cannock, so we were very lucky to be able to get him back. This Home is so loving, words can't express how I'm so impressed with Cannock and the staffs are so loving and kind and address any problems you may have, it is perfect.

My mum has been here for 7 weeks for assessment. The care she has received since being here has been outstanding. All staff at all levels and responsibilities are happy, friendly and kind. The management have an open door policy and are always there to talk to the relatives. They are wonderful and extremely helpful. The laundry team and domestic staff do a great job, keeping everything looking and smelling fabulous. The home provides fabulous stimulating activities twice a day. This puts a smile on my mums face - one that I haven't seen in previous months. She is cared for and provided for, I couldn't ask for a better place for her to be. They do it all, even the little personal touches - such as providing her with a home baked cake, singing to her and putting a banner on her door for her birthday, these make all the difference. I will be very sad if my mum has to move from this amazing place. Thank you to everyone there for making it such a wonderful home.

My father has been at the Cannock Specialist Centre since February. We had an uphill battle prior to his placement and had been offered various homes that we felt were not appropriate. Since being at the home, as a family we have been able to take comfort in the fact that dad is in the best place and receiving quality care. We feel listened to and empowered to make decisions in his best interests. Jo the manager takes the time to see us and to ensure that we are happy with the care provided. The staff are thoughtful, caring and treat dad with dignity. They go out of their way to ensure that his needs are met and that he is happy. Dad has significant needs with his Alzheimer’s however the inclusive practice means that the outstanding events team, create opportunities for him to involved in daily activities. Pinky you are one in a million and the residents are so lucky to have you. Dad has regained his weight with the food on offer, the nursing team have proactively engaged with his medication and have reduced them where appropriate, which has meant that dad is now much more aware. I cannot praise this home enough and I highly recommend it. It has given us the home from home feeling that we love and we are very grateful to all the staff at this beautiful home ❤️

He gets involved in all the activities and enjoys singing with nurses on a daily basis! Everyone is professional and always has a smile on their faces. My partners grandad was placed here a few months ago and I am overwhelmed with the care he is receiving. Management are lovely and the staff are really good. They have regular agency staff which are really good. I am so pleased with the care he is receiving and wouldn't wish anything more for him.

Where do I start with this place oh yes AVOID
My mum was admitted back in March 2024 to be assessed we didn’t know what it was like then .When we arrived to see her no one greeted us with any information we were expected to find her ourselves and expect to know what was going on in this huge place.
The room was lovely when we finally found her but she had been given a carer who hardly spoke any English to watch her and supervise . The days went on and my mum seemed to get worse in there I would visit and most of the time carers were on there phones just sitting next to patients not interacting with them ,then her personal stuff started going missing 3 pairs of reading glasses Jeans, trousers , jumpers , pjs 6 pairs dressing gown we were told (. Half way through) that stuff should be marked with her name and to top it off her false teeth ( how the hell do you put her name on those!) my dad even put a large sign on her wardrobe not to touch her stuff for the laundry he would do it but they took no notice .Every day the staff where told but no one gave a dam it was all lies they told us to keep us happy that they would have a good look round it was us who had to go hunting. They said they would do things but when you came the next day it wasn’t taken care of, my mum walked about for days with long toenails digging into her before we found out and told the carers who said they would cut them but next day nothing was done so we had to go home and get nail cutters .
Because my mums glasses £400 worth went missing my dad threatened them with the police but they didn’t care the management were lazy and couldn’t give a toss about anything other than sitting in there office chatting it was 3 weeks in before they got off there backsides and gave us sheets of paper to fill in asking us what mum liked what were her favourite music was her favourite food etc
Dad never took up the threat of the police because he was to concerned in my mums welfare and what was going on with her .
On Friday 10th May my mum left to live in Residential care None of her stuff was found nor her teeth . My mum was losing her identity when she entered there with dementia but her losing personal stuff has made her lose another part of her I am disgusted she was treated like this .
My next step will be getting in touch with CQC about this place .

I really don’t know where to start and a lot of my gripes have already been stated on other reviews, my mom had to stay there from January to March 2024. Upon arrival the place looks amazing, fresh and clean with all mod cons and beautiful furnishings, believe me it is a case of fur coat no knickers.
Mom was there for rehabilitation after breaking her hip and was a high risk of falls, after 72 hours her 121 was taken away ( I really had no explanation as to why) and she “fell” and badly bruised her face, I am still waiting to see the accident form as no one could seem to explain what had happened, the bruises stayed for about 3 weeks in which time she had 4 more falls and was finally given her 121 back.
I say 121 but like in previous reviews they were just sat on the phone not talking to mom and mom was sat there with no tv on or any conversation. Also mom was rarely dressed always in pjs (probably cos they had lost all her clothes) which is not like her at all, there were a couple of times when I got there early afternoon and she was still lying in her bed and hadn’t been washed and had her own poo in her fingernails, absolutely disgusting so I washed her. She was slowly but surely losing her identity and dignity, I was so relieved when she finally moved to her new home, until we got there and found out so many items were missing, trousers, blouses and a brand new pair of sketchers which had been delivered directly there, I phoned and kept getting fobbed off until the shoes were found, great news we went over to fetch them to find they had been put in the charity bag and given away.
Now I will say that after much fuss from myself that Cannock have replaced the shoes but there are so many of her clothes still missing and no one cares. All I am going to end on is don’t be fooled by how amazing and modern the place looks, the care is awful, I think a spot inspection is needed.
