Have used Candover Clinic for many years as have my family and the service and care are excellent. Facilities are modern and clean. Even had a procedure here and couldn’t fault the staff or op, so was a little surprised to read some peoples reviews. The private GP Practise is also superb and very thorough with time taken to understand the issues and good explanation. Appointments are quick and always face to face!

Absolutely disgusting interaction with Dr Shanaya Rathod. She booked the wrong time for my appointment, there was no confirmation of my appointment at any point, so when I arrived on the day having taken time out of work I was told she was not in the building until the afternoon. I tried to call her secretary and left messages but turns out her secretary only works evenings. So I called the clinic and asked for Dr Rathod to call me back. She was incredibly rude on the phone, blamed me for getting the time wrong and said it's not policy to confirm appointments with clients and that I had so many opportunities to check the appointment myself. She kept saying that I cant get a refund for the £940 I spent for the 2 hour Autism assessment and that I need to attend the appointment she had me down for or lose the money. I mentioned that I was unable to attend an afternoon appointment as I had work and meetings I couldn't just cancel since I had planned for a morning appointment from 9:30 - 11:30 am. She kept interrupting me saying I needed to learn to listen and to let her talk. I started to have a panic attack and my sister who was with me took over as I was unable to speak. Dr Rathod insisted I jump onto Zoom to hold the session, even if it was only for 30 mins, for the full price of £940, and kept saying I needed to get past the money issue and to move on since her Company wouldn't allow a refund, saying "someone has to pay for the room". I started having a further meltdown and was in a really bad way but again she insisted I jump on a call to get the assessment done with. She said I should have a drink and compose myself and jump on a call, which just made me feel even worse as my mental state declined further. At this point she said she will issue a refund and I need to find a new Psychiatrist. Her language, tone and handling of this situation was so appalling, I am so concerned that someone like this is in the field she is in. I had to take the rest of the day off work, costing me pay from work due to the state she left me in, and it took a long time for my sister to be able to calm me dow . I was there for potential Autism, I already have Anxiety, Depression and C-PTSD and for her to treat a paying customer like that, knowing the vulnerable state I am in, is just disgusting and appalling. She was defensive straight away and kept focusing on telling me I can't get a refund, and was angry that I wanted to say my piece and showed absolutely no empathy whatsoever. I will be putting in a formal complaint, this is not how you treat people, let alone a paying customer who is vulnerable.

I have called 5 times to try and make an appointment and never managed to speak to anyone who could actually make one and each time told someone would come back to me and we are 5 weeks in and still nothing. Appalling service and I'm paying for it!

Simply can't fault the place! Mr M. Khan and his team have been fantastic. My surgery was in the DTC and the theatre 3 staff took incredible care of me as did the ladies on the Candover Unit. I can't thank them enough for making my visit such a positive experience.
