Been there today and was impressed by the changes. Was assessed quickly. Given a paper to take to reception. Was given a time to see a doctor. (That could be a nurse as in my case it was but no complaints)15 mins before time you go back to reception. I'm assuming to confirm your still there. Appointment 5/10 mins late. No problem. Was there approximately 1 1/2 hours. Defiantly a big improvement. Now tell Blackburn how to do it

Awful. Absolutely Awful.
Even a Robot will have more sympathy for patients needing urgent help, than the reception. They make you wait hours and hours and hours, and then even MORE hours. The reception is RUDE and unfriendly. This is supposed to be a place for emergency help, but it's asif this place takes longer than a normal place to help you. Absolutely Horrible experience. Waited 7 hours in total, dealt with rude staff, and had to bug the doctor to actually give the prescription. What's the point? If I didnt pry I wouldn't have gotten the basic thing I came for. And it Would have taken 12 hours. Go anywhere else but this place. The reception and staff are the rudest people I've ever encountered. Very Dissapointed.

An awful awful place . Urgent care reception has a red line
Which they expect you to wait behind, and if By chance you see the instruction to fill your details in on the iPad before going to reception, you have to step out of line and lose your place . Even worse, you don’t see the poorly placed instruction and get to reception only to be sent
Back to the iPad by the gestapo like receptionists. Then you complete the details on the iPad that you then queue to repeat again at reception. Nobody will give you a rough idea of wait times even when you beg for just an indication that you won’t hold dear, but no, you must wait to see the nurse before they will tell you what your appointment time will be if they even give you an appointment . And that’s even though the receptionist knows
The wait time Roughly because she’s giving out the appointments so she knows
What time the last appointment issued was . You are then met by a most disinterested triage nurse in the full waiting Room talking personal details Behind a small privacy screen . Despite
Telling Her that I had injured ribs badly eight weeks ago and was struggling to breathe now with chest pain ,
She just wrote torso injury on my sheet . I then went back to queue to be told by the severely lacking personal skills and devoid of customer service or compassion receptionist that the next appointment was 11.30 pm. It was 7.00 pm in the evening. I tried to ascertain if waiting for this appointment would result in any further necessary tests being done at the same time or would another visit, queue, triage and appointment be required . The receptionist just would not engage helpfully with any information whatsoever . I explained that minor injuries rossendale had said I would need an X-ray, hence the
Reason for sending me there but this was met with indifference and contempt. Eventually I settled on an appointment at seven in the following morning , was instructed without smile or engagement of any kind to return 15 minutes earlier
Hence making the 7.00 an appointment a 6.45 one . A total and
Absolute shambles with rude and unhelpful staff. Contrast that with my visit to Fairfield which I made directly after this debacle and I have been properly triaged and chest x rayed over an hour sooner than the appointment I would have had at Burnley and that was after arriving g there an hour later . The staff seem
More Helpful and caring and efficient . Bith services under pressure but the difference is staff attitude and general management of the process . Burley could learn
A lot

Have to say I got a lot further here than blackburn , yes I got abit narky with the lady because I wanted answers which blackburn failed to give me however I had bloods done , pain relief and even tho in agony on assessment she was lovely , didn't catch her name she went above and beyond to make me comfortable. The other staff too where lovely when needed more stronger pain meds. Again I do apologise to the lady who assessed me. Over all the waiting room was grubby wrappers ,stains etc on the floor but the actual part were get assessed was clean bar bit blood drips on the floor. I can't Blame the doctors for this tho . So the stars are aimed at the staff however for cleanliness I'd put a 1* if could

In end bloods fine and given anti-inflammatorys and codeine ,I can bend my knee abit more now since coming home .

If you have the chance to go somewhere else just not to this hospital do it!! But if not, then good luck!
The lack of professionalism of some doctors is sometimes too much.
to do 3 blood pressures, of which a maximum of two should be done because at the 3rd one the patient can no longer feel his hand at all.
Not being able to take 3 blood samples and after you ask why the first attempt didn't work, to be told "I don't know"
to say that you will bring the medicine in 20 minutes and it will only come in half an hour
Forget that you asked for a urine sample at the next meeting with the patient and don't even give the container.
And with all that, after the patient has spent 8 hours in the hospital, to have an arrogant attitude towards the patient..

Brilliant service from the minute I arrived. Great staff. Friendly and caring. Don’t know why the bad reviews are even here. Basically urgent care is for urgent cases and I can only imagine the less urgent ones aren’t happy they aren’t seen. I can honestly say the whole department were good and the nurses on the gyn and breast ward were fantastic. A testament to the profession, each and every one was so caring and responsive. I didn’t like being here but they made it a lot better for me. Thank you guys!

I've brought a relative here twice in the last fortnight for unrelated A&E issues and I thought they were really good both times. They lose a star for trying to get me to wear a face mask (which I obviously refused) but other than that I have nothing but praise for them.

Of course we had to wait, nobody enjoys waiting, but today we were in and out inside 90 mins which I think is decent compared to other hospitals. The A&E entrance is very accessibly by car which is important if you're bringing an injured person.

Most importantly on both visits we felt like the staff were caring, respectful and polite. Compared to the general attitude of most staff I've met at Blackburn's A&E - 10 miles down the road - is like night and day.
