Reception staff are incredibly rude and dismissive. They have no concept of empathy or even just basic human respect. All other staff beyond that point are wonderful, it's just a shame the first thing you are greeted with is rudeness. I'm sure this isn't the case for all of them but it certainly was for the one I unfortunately had to speak to 3 times

I recently had an ENT appointment with Mr. N Kumar after previous referrals had not worked out. I had already seen two doctors who diagnosed me with a deviated septum and nasal polyps, but Mr. Kumar disagreed, stating that neither condition was present. His recommendation was to continue using a nasal spray I’d tried before, which had not helped. When I asked how long it might take to work, he vaguely mentioned that it could take “years” but gave no clear timeframe or indication that it would be effective.

As a diabetic, I am cautious about adding medications without a clear plan or follow-up. If a specific timeframe had been provided to review progress—say, after a year—it would have been more reassuring. Instead, I left the appointment feeling that my concerns hadn’t been fully addressed. I would not recommend this doctor, particularly to NHS patients, as the experience felt rushed, with no clear treatment plan in place.

The whole experience from initial consultation to completing my procedure, was a pleasure, which is not a statement relating to hospital treatment. Reception (brilliant), all the staff (brilliant),Dr Haq (is something else). Thankyou

Over 1 week since MRI scan carried out with assurances that results would be reported quickly- no communication or follow up whatsoever- nobody available at the hospital to speak to- automated phone message service despite advertising “open 24 hours”

Went for a procedure, I arrived early so it was OK to check in. I was called in bang on time and procedure was done and dusted in 1hr 15 mins the staff are excellent and really make you comfortable. I have been having the same procedure for the last 15 years and this was the best one, hardly any pain or discomfort. 5 stars to the staff and Consultant.

Wonderful place and amazing friendly staff.
Was looked after from first appointment to discharge from my procedure wonderfully.
Hospital is brand new, clinically sterile and a relaxing place to be a patient. Cup of coffee and toast was beautifully presented and went down a treat
Thank you to all for looking after me so well.
The staff are a credit to the place

Had an operation here this week and it is by far the best medical care I’ve every received, from start to finish!

The hospital is so clean and the staff can’t do enough, recovery was fast and straight forward.

If I was to ever need an operation again I would definitely visit back buckshaw hospital.

Tracey the physio is an absolute asset to the team. I've been messed about for years by both private and nhs services, but Tracey is the first person that has taken the time to really understand my back issues, and built a physio plan bit by bit that has actually worked. Thanks Tracey for all your help!
