Receptionists are rude and you feel as if you're bothering them. I had to wait 4 weeks for an appointment for a semi-urgent matter and when the appointment finally came around I was given a prescription for a medicine that is no longer in circulation. I called the doctors to ask to see someone asap as I am in need of the medication and they couldn't give me a face to face appointment for 2 weeks and only offered a phone appointment which I cant even receive a prescription from. Honestly a terrible service, find another Oxford GP.

The absolute worst GP I have ever been to. Reception staff are rude and act like everything is too much effort for them. I only had one appointment there, they didn’t give me a real appointment time just asked me to come in at midday, didn’t get seen until 1pm. Also, I’ve now registered with a new GP (three weeks ago!!!) and my files STILL haven’t been sent to them so I can’t get my medication! This place is awful, I can’t believe the uni isn’t addressing how terrible it’s own service is.

What a shame. Lovely GP’s being represented by such awful receptionists. For some reason, they tend to operate under the belief that it is them that will be treating patients instead of the doctors and therefore every phone call and interaction is some sort of painful and strenuous task.

I fear that perhaps one or two of the receptionists may have chosen the wrong career pathway and would be better suited to a career that does not involve providing assistance and communicating with those needing medical care - maybe a job in the prison system would be better suited.

Obviously not all of the receptionists are like this and we’ve had experience with some lovely people that work here. In fact, I feel bad for them, knowing that they must interact with such miserable colleagues on a daily basis. Something needs to be done 🙂

Never took me seriously about my back pain. Was told to take pain killers until it went away. It didn’t go away for 2 months after going elsewhere to see a doctor. Explained I hadn’t been to a doctor for anything for 7 years and had a few things I wanted seen to but instead said we have time for only 2 things. One regarding my acne/Dermatillomania where she said it wasn’t bad (mind you I was wearing a lot of makeup) and it’s simply normal. She made me feel really stupid. Honestly, the worse experience with a gp I’ve ever had. Never went back after that.

I generally have had very little problem with this GP. It took a little while for my files to be updated in the NHS app but I get the help I need pretty easily with an e-consult form and get a call back the next day. I have never had to walk into the practice to get the medication I need.

A total disgrace. After waiting an hour and a half, barely able to move I was told I was absolutely fine and to take some paracatomal. After going back to my flat and almost blacking out due to how high my fever was my dad had to drive up from London to pic me up just to take me to our doctor. He told me I had a viral infection. My fever was 40c and my throat was badly infected. I’ve now been advised to get tested for glandular fever. If I was to trust the doctor who saw me at Brookes medical center I could have been in real trouble.

The staff are always very helpful and have gone above and beyond to find me appointments when they are fully booked. The few times I have been I have found the doctors to be attentive and understanding.

Reception staff are rude, to patients and other professionals. Useless, no help, or empathy. Anything is too much trouble. Scandal it's still open.
