The kitchen staff at Bowes House consistently deliver delicious and nutritious meals every day of the week. They work hard to be flexible and provide other options when residents occasionally make special requests. A few minutes of quiet regularly descends upon the dining room in Aylesham residential unit soon after 12.30 and it's clear that everyone is thoroughly enjoying the food. Clear plates are are frequent feature at the end of our lunchtime dinner service. Thank you to our fabulous kitchen team!

I visited Bowes House Care Home as a visitor for the 'Pie and a Pint' scheme. It was the first time I had been to the home and I spent a pleasant hour chatting to two gentlemen residents.
They both had interesting life stories to tell and I enjoyed their reminiscences. We were able to share quite a few memories of the local villages and pubs, and our grammar school days.
They both spoke very highly of the home and seemed very content to be there.
The pie, mash and two veg were very tasty (and the beer too!).
I met several members of staff, who were all very charming, particularly Karen Milligan, Senior Customer Relations Manager. She ran the session efficiently and was happy to spend time answering any questions about the home.
I will certainly book in for the next session.

Bowes house is a great place for me to take the people I care for. Karen is amazing , makes us feel very welcome. Karen puts on a variety of informative groups for different medical conditions each week. Bringing the community together. All the staff at bowes house are also very accommodating. Myself and my companion would be lost without these activities.

My Mother came to Bowes House at a point where she was extremely distressed, and I could no longer provide the support she needed. It was during the Covid lockdown, so she had to self-isolate upon entry, and for the first few weeks she still seemed very anxious, but then she became familiar with the place and the people, staff and residents, and her mood changed and she was back to her normal cheerful self again. Unfortunately she passed away four weeks after that, but at least I have the comfort in knowing that she moved into the best place, and that she enjoyed her final month.
From my perspective the staff were always approachable and helpful, and they always seemed genuinely interested in my Mother as a person.

My 89 and a half year old Dad was taken to Bowes just over a week ago after a fairly traumatic spell in hospital, starting on Christmas Eve. He was depressed and was beginning to feel like giving up. He is now starting to think in a far more positive way about being able to come home. The staff are efficient and friendly, according to Dad the food is 'out of this world' , which kind of put's the pressure on me for when he does come home. I am immensely impressed that our family dog's are welcome and I witnessed the joy that the visiting and 'homed' small pet's brought to patient's.
Dad isn't home yet, but I doubt there could have been a better place for him to be sent to, to get his strength back, all the 'people' at Bowes should be proud.

It's now getting to the end of February, my Dad is still in Bowes, we have had some upsetting new's, but his care is still excellent, he's looking forward to coming home, maybe in the next couple of week's, but we don't know for how long. Every person I have met in Bowes House are lovely, caring people. As a family, we couldn't ask for better care for my father and the kid's grandfather.
