Staff are lazy. They will send you elsewhere for over the counter medication and they don't follow the recommendations on the NHS website. Go elsewhere to reduce the amount of time you have to suffer without basic medication. Furthermore they hung the phone up on me and even if it was an accident, they didn't bother to call me back. Lack of care, not fit for purpose

I really wish our old pharmacy team was back they were so much more organised within themselves and so much more helpful to the customer than these muppets that have the shop now!
So....I'm currently on holiday away from Bowburn but still in the UK and didn't have chance to pick up my prescription before I left Bowburn. I phoned my GP and asked if there was any way I could collect my prescription locally and they said yes, I gave them details of a local pharmacist and using my NHS number the local pharmacist could access my prescription using the SPINE internet site and issue my medication. Sounds simple right?
Unfortunately the Bowburn pharmacist needed to "release" the prescription on the SPINE internet site so the local pharmacist could issue it. I phone the Bowburn pharmacy so they would do this - a 30 second job. It was 12:50pm and the phone just wasn't being answered. Eventually the phone was answered for me to be told she wouldn't release my prescription because she was on her lunch and she wouldn't do it until after her lunch at 1:45pm.
Now, I'm a reasonable person, worked in the NHS for 36 years and know how important a lunch break is. But my problem is why all staff working in this environment need to have their lunch at the same time?
Is this too complicated for the shop manager to understand that half the staff go at 12-1 and the other half go at 1-2?
Is it not logical in both the health and commercial sectors that the service needs to be accessible during all opening hours to customers and patients?
Or if you're too disorganised to cater your business to your customers needs then you should at least advertise the fact that you're shut and incapable of compassion during a whole hour of your working day?
I think I'll take my business to Coxhoe!

We have seen a nurse practitioner on Tuesday the 2nd May. For a skin issue and headaches. We were told you will get a body wash , something for spots and a cream for the viral infection on the skin. It's a week gone by . The pharmacy can't supply. They told us come next day. When we called they come with a story about a supplier that messed up the order. That's no one's fault but in my country we would out of courtesy pick up the phone and call the patient to explain I have been back an forth with between the doctors and pharmacy. This morning my son wakes up with a swollen face and has an interview on Tuesday. It's ridiculous poor services. Poor experience ever. A week later his skin got worse because of the bowburn pharmacy that can't deliver. What do you do in these cases. I really appreciate the NHS people are busy but what about us as the patients we just get treated like a number. I am honestly very disappointed for a first experience. Is sad. I feel really sorry for my son today. It's not a nice feeling to be itchy and swollen like this and having to attend an interview. I honestly want to take this matter further. They all seem very confused about at this pharmacy they ask the same information over and over again. It's like no structure at all.

Very poor service here when trying to have my script made up. No attempt to contact the GP surgery to have an alternative form of medication prescribed because the original was unobtainable. Instead, left without vital medication and caused avoidable stress. Was sneered and eye rolled at when I politely asked to speak to the pharmacist who didn't care anyway.
