The same great quality you’d expect from the chain, the coffee is consistently excellent. I particularly enjoyed their match strawberry, which was rich and smooth. The seating area is comfortable, though it could be a bit better. If you’re after a good cup of coffee with a cool, modern atmosphere, this place is a solid choice.

i love ordering on the kiosk which i found was really helpful as i can customise my order to my liking, which is good for people who have allergies or would like special requirements without feeling like a pain. also great for people like me who have social anxiety!

First and last time coming here. £5 for a bacon roll, with not even a full rasher of bacon. Absolute rip off! Also got yelled at when attempting to go to the toilet. This place is THE worse place I have gone for breakfast and coffee. Place need shutting down!

I enjoy an oat milk latte here and I'm pleased that there is no extra charge for opting to have oat milk.
The coffee shop is big with many places to sit downstairs or upstairs with tables spaced out with plenty of room around you
You can order at a touch screen or at the counter.
The staff were friendly.
The cakes and pastries are not priced and the portions are small.
Others that I have had coffee with here say the coffee is strong but I have a one shot and am happy with that.
Disappointed that they charge for a babychino.
Overall a good coffee shop to visit.

Tables are well spaced so that you don't feel on top of each other. Greeted by lovely aroma of coffee. I had a latte and mince pie. The coffee has a rich taste and the mince pie was very nice and had a homemade taste to it.

Easy ordering on a touch screen. My mother had a hot chocolate, but unfortunately, that wasn't so great and tasted like slightly chocolaty warm milk. The coffee shop is also dog friendly.

Tried the new spot in town—has fast touch-screen ordering much like a McDonald's or KFC. The industrial vibe's cool with ample space upstairs and downstairs. Service was swift, but the coffee was a letdown. We tried the Flat White, Cappuccino and Americano. Despite being a coffee explorer, this ranks among the worst. Thumbs up for free water though. I'll return to try the waffles and maybe a smoothie, but the coffee? Not again.

Black sheep in Chelmsford is my go to spot, it has a rustic and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are all super friendly and helpful, who seem to go above and beyond to ensure every customer is served as quickly as possible whilst always having perfect quality drink/ food. I wouldn’t recommend any cafe in Chelmsford above black sheep!

Black Sheep Coffee in Shamsfield is truly worth the trip! I genuinely enjoyed traveling to Shamsfield just to visit this branch, and it did not disappoint. The staff here are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. This is a stark contrast to the experience I’ve had at the Colchester branch, where the vibe isn’t as pleasant. The Shamsfield branch makes you feel valued as a customer, and the service is consistently excellent. The coffee itself is of high quality, and the menu offers a great variety of options to suit every taste. I can honestly say that this branch has become one of my favorite spots, and I’m already looking forward to visiting it again. Highly recommended for anyone in the area or even for those willing to make the trip—it’s absolutely worth it!

First time I've ever been to Black Sheep Coffee. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff too. My Decaf Latte was really lovely! Nutella and Banana Waffle very tasty! Look forward to coming back!
